This was a very busy place and for good reason. We had a very good dinner with excellent service. It's very casual but very good food.

A friend and I popped in here for a bite to eat with a drink. The waitress who was working there alone was definitely overwhelmed by the number of tables (as anyone would be) and there seemed to be no help available for her. A mistake was made with our order and so we ended up waiting over an hour... More

Looking for a place to eat dinner, my husband and I made our way to the Sherlock Holmes Public House. The outside was filled with people standing around drinking pints of beer, but don't let that fool you. If you head through the door and follow the signs to the restaurant upstairs, you'll find there are usually plenty of available... More

We had three delicious meals with excellent service from helpful staff. The ambiance of the restaurant was great with lots of themed artifacts around the room. The food was good value for money. This is definitely a place I will visit again.

We often visit this pub when we are in London because the food and beer are good and not as expensive as some places nearby. We were lucky this time to call in at lunchtime and get a table for 5 straight away. Often you've to wait as it does get very busy. Quite a good menu with some sharing... More

We have visited this place previously and was always happy with the service, the atmosphere and the food itself. When we last visited it was closed for some renovation work so when we next visited we could not wait to see and taste the excellent food once again. The overall atmosphere was still the same with the heavily themed Sherlock... More

If you are a Holmes fan this is just a fun place to go and to eat. Filled with memorabilia from the movies and books. The food was good too! The sticky pudding dessert was delicious.

The cool Sherlock Holmes den made us feel as though we had walked into the book or movie. Very fun and interesting. This was the best fish and chips we had in London. It took a really long time to get our food, but that was because we chose to eat at 2pm. The night life here is booming.

Staying in Trafalgar Square / Embankment

Neighborhood Profile
Trafalgar Square / Embankment
With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is not just considered the heart of this bustling London hub, but the very core of the city itself. Beyond this esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most popular cultural attractions including the National Gallery and many West End theaters. Along the way to these major sites are quiet lanes and antiquated pubs to discover, as well as riverside vistas to enjoy on the embankment. With a calendar full of celebratory events, any time of year is a fine time to visit.
