The cool Sherlock Holmes den made us feel as though we had walked into the book or movie. Very fun and interesting. This was the best fish and chips we had in London. It took a really long time to get our food, but that was because we chose to eat at 2pm. The night life here is booming.

Had a few in here last Saturday night. It was busy but service was excellent, good atmosphere in a great position. Wasn't cheap, but London isn't.

Busy London evening. With no reservations we were able to get in without a wait. Good food. Good service. Sherlock fans will enjoy the trappings. Nice spot for a romantic walk along the nearby river Thames afterward.

We had the fish & chips and a burger with onion rings for lunch one afternoon. The portions were quite large and my burger was well cooked, but the onion rings were tasteless and the bacon was very undercooked. There are interesting decorations all around along with a room that supposedly looks like Sherlock's study. The bar on the first... More

We had a very nice time at the Sherlock Holmes pub. The people wewre extremely generous and nice and the food was quite decent. It's English pub style food, so what do you expect? But the atmostphere was quite wonderful with all of the detective memorabilia. And the locked room upstairs with the frozen in time office of Sherlock is... More

The restaurant is upstairs and doesn't really have any atmosphere. We had booked a table in advance, but it seemed it wasn't necessary. The wait staff were not great - women was rude. They forgot our starter, food came late and we ordered an additional side dish, which came AFTER we had eaten. They charged incorrectly for drinks. I made... More

Staying in Trafalgar Square / Embankment

Neighborhood Profile
Trafalgar Square / Embankment
With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is not just considered the heart of this bustling London hub, but the very core of the city itself. Beyond this esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most popular cultural attractions including the National Gallery and many West End theaters. Along the way to these major sites are quiet lanes and antiquated pubs to discover, as well as riverside vistas to enjoy on the embankment. With a calendar full of celebratory events, any time of year is a fine time to visit.
