Claridge's has a special place in our hearts, as being the first hotel / restaurant in this class, we had ever stepped into 10 years ago. Now, we travel each year, sometimes between once and four times each year. We have become so acquainted with...Claridge's whether we stay at a weekend or just dine in the reading Room/Foyer that each visit is like coming home again.
From the rotating front doors last night into that wonderful polished floor/foyer, it just makes us smile. The welcome we received was so personal, the standards of staff, their dress code, their manners etc were as always impeccable. We are not just another customer, we are made to feel as good as the best of them.
The food menu changes each season and whilst we have our favourites, there is something for everyone. The food quality is top class, the crockery sparkling and layout is just elegant. You feel special.
Claridge's Bar and 'The Fumoir' again are two lovely places to drink, top quality mixed with quality people.
We had the Lobster, The Scallops, the famous Claridge's chicken pie and the most gorgeous Truffle fries...the best ever!
You are never rushed, the staff are attentive but rarely intrusive, the evening piano and double bass, just gives the atmosphere that 'class' feel to it, a pleasure to be there.
Special mention to Shamim, one of the restaurant supervisors (should be a manager!) he has become an integral pert of our visit last night and previous visits...like a friend, always pleased to see you and gives that personal touch.
You don't have to be rich and upper class, but you should be smart and respectable.
Claridge's has a vast history, we feel privileged to be a very very small part of that experience, and last night was no exception.
Highly recommended for a special milestone celebration, r afternoon tea or simply a lovely meal...whatever the occasion, you wont leave disappointed.More
