Excellent customer service throughout from all at Claridges. The afternoon tea was wonderful, so much food and they just kept bringing more! nothing was too much trouble and they were happy to top up with our favourite sandwiches. A Christmas pudding treat was served along...with the scones and various assorted cakes....all very lovely. It was our anniversary and we were also given a celebration cake plus a lovely individual Christmas cake each to take home. The choice of teas too were amazing and we could have as many as we wanted. Our waiter was excellent and kept our champagne flowing. They were all aware of the Covid rules and customers were spaced out well and sanitisers were plentiful. I can't praise them enough and this is highly recommended and very reasonably priced for everything that we had. Thank you Claridges.More

We had a wonderful time. The sandwiches were amazing and so was the Christmas pudding, cakes and the hot chocolate!!!! We had two vegan and one vegetarian options and they made a huge effort. When we left they gave my son a lovely bear with...his name embroidered on it and we got some marmalade and a Christmas cake to take away. Never rushed and we sat for over three hours. It was little busy but the staff were all wearing masks and unbelievably nice and sweet.More

I already visited the Foyer several times since 7 years and found the whole experience absolutely amazing each time and this last visit was no exception. I am normally a solo traveller and worry about going to places on my own as you normally get...placed in a forgotten corner and made to feel conspicuous with the lack of guests at your table. The Foyer and staff have the ability to make this not happen and I always appreciate that. It was my birthday and on a visit to London to celebrate so I decided to visit for afternoon tea and as normal was blown away by the experience. Glenn is the restaurant director of the Foyer and is a huge part of the establishment. He continues to be professional, friendly, attentive and has an extraordinary ability to move around tables talking to guests and making them all feel special. I felt safe within the dining room with current Covid guidance. Staff wore masks as did guests of moving around. Hand sanitiser at every table and I felt the tables were nice spread out. The teas were all great and the choice of finger sandwiches was lovely. The freshly baked scones with Cornish Clotted cream are the best. The selection of sweet pastries arrives at the table and it almost too good to eat. All of the staff are tremendous and my table was served mainly by Michael who originates from Italy. What a lovely fellow....friendly, caring and keen to do his best as he serves the table. It was also so lovely to meet Luke again who has been part of the Claridges team since my first visit many years ago. These guys make The Foyer feel like part of my family. S special thank you to the two beautiful ladies providing our musical entertainment.....so nice to hear Amazing Grace being played so well. Well done guys and keep up the hard work in such uncertain times.More

In the middle of a pandemic, the only difference to business as usual in the Claridge's Foyer and Reading Room was that the waiters were wearing masks. The place was crowded, no social distancing, no hand sanitizer offered at the table, parties of various sizes,...no "rule of six", patrons walking around without face coverings, etc. In addition to our safety concerns, the afternoon tea itself was an underwhelming experience. We waited more than 30 minutes over our lukewarm tea to receive a plate of bland sandwiches. I would have added salt for at least some taste but there was none on the table and waiters were not easy to get hold of as the place was clearly understaffed. After another long wait, we were presented with two miniature scones and four tiny and unremarkable pastries. This experience in a crowded, noisy, apparently not covid-secure, and cold (that is, unheated) environment cost about £70 pp. I am rather generously giving two stars for our visit because the waiting staff were pleasant and the architecture of the venue was impressive. There is little else I could recommend.More

Of course this comes with a price tag but how many times do we go to places where we still pay a significant amount for low quality and tell ourselves that we better treat ourselves to something nicer next time? This place is definitely worth...it - I rather go here once than to some other establishments more frequently which are a true rip off compared to this!More

Claridge's has a special place in our hearts, as being the first hotel / restaurant in this class, we had ever stepped into 10 years ago. Now, we travel each year, sometimes between once and four times each year. We have become so acquainted with...Claridge's whether we stay at a weekend or just dine in the reading Room/Foyer that each visit is like coming home again. From the rotating front doors last night into that wonderful polished floor/foyer, it just makes us smile. The welcome we received was so personal, the standards of staff, their dress code, their manners etc were as always impeccable. We are not just another customer, we are made to feel as good as the best of them. The food menu changes each season and whilst we have our favourites, there is something for everyone. The food quality is top class, the crockery sparkling and layout is just elegant. You feel special. Claridge's Bar and 'The Fumoir' again are two lovely places to drink, top quality mixed with quality people. We had the Lobster, The Scallops, the famous Claridge's chicken pie and the most gorgeous Truffle fries...the best ever! You are never rushed, the staff are attentive but rarely intrusive, the evening piano and double bass, just gives the atmosphere that 'class' feel to it, a pleasure to be there. Special mention to Shamim, one of the restaurant supervisors (should be a manager!) he has become an integral pert of our visit last night and previous visits...like a friend, always pleased to see you and gives that personal touch. You don't have to be rich and upper class, but you should be smart and respectable. Claridge's has a vast history, we feel privileged to be a very very small part of that experience, and last night was no exception. Highly recommended for a special milestone celebration, r afternoon tea or simply a lovely meal...whatever the occasion, you wont leave disappointed.More

Very inviting and welcoming, waitresses need to be more attentive. Champagne afternoon tea good value for a special venue. Food sandwiches standard but tasty. Quiches very nice Scones small but plenty, unique lovely jam too. Cakes good but nothing exciting. Choice of tea/coffee fantastic. You...can ask for more of anything but there is plenty, left overs in a take away box. Manager took time out to spend time with every guest nice touch. Dress code smart casual not too strict but it’s more comfy for you they wantMore

What a lovely venue, beautiful chandelier and great seats all around. Visited here on a weekend & was thoroughly impressed by the service. The sandwiches here stole the show. Better than the sweet course. The chicken , egg & cucumber sandwiches were all outstanding. The...ability to reorder meant could try a couple of vegetarian options too. The sweet dishes were not as impressive, some very delicious like the chocolate brownie however a couple didn’t work. The scones were fresh and the jame tasted fresh. If you get a chance try the hot chocolate, it’s amazing and real chocolate melted and given in a mug with the ability to mix your own warm milk.More

Having waited for the hotel to reopen so we could use our champagne afternoon tea gift voucher today was the day. And what a day it turned out to be! We were welcomed very warmly by the doorman into the hotel , encouraged to use...the hand sanitiser provided, and directed to the Foyer where we we offered a choice of seats. Scanning a barcode on our phone gave us access to the afternoon tea menu and advise was given on the options and choice of tea. The champagne was delicious and very generously sized. The food was amazing. We tasted 5 different varieties of sandwiches and the egg was our favourite which surprised me as it is not one I would normally choose. The quiche was pleasant if a little sweet. Plain and fruit scones next with jam and clotted cream. The jam the waiter informed us was made with 10 different fruits - the taste unusual but utterly delicious. Then the pastries- beautifully stunning and intricate and delicately flavoured with something to suit every palate. Anything we could not manage to eat was presented to us boxed to take home. The tea was lovely and topped up very frequently. Just when we thought we had finished my husband was presented with a chocolate cake and candle as birthday surprise - what a lovely thought. All the staff were professional courteous and not at all stuffy instantly making you feel at ease. Thank you so much to everyone who made our day such a special and memorable experience. We really hope to return at some point in the future for another taste of the unique experience that is ClaridgesMore

The scones and cakes are a decent size meaning not bite size but not too large either.
