I took my Mum to The Dorchester for Champagne Afternoon Tea a week ago today, it was for a very special occasion, her 60th Birthday. I booked way in advance, you don’t pay anything until the actual day you visit. I told them it was for a special occasion and they said they’d do whatever they could to make it... More

Lovely afternoon at tea in the Dorchester. Beautifully made and very tasty sandwiches; lovely pastries and delicious tea! Wide selection of teas from across the world; attentive, knowledgeable waiters who responded to my not eating meat with a great array of non meat sandwiches.

Had a great traditional afternoon tea here. The staff were very attentive and were very helpful with their advice. The tea itself was amazing and we ordered two, which was way too much for the two of us. The tearoom had a lovely atmosphere with a piano being played for background ambience. We parked at the Mayfair underground car park... More

You always expect quality in a London 5 star hotel, this was no different. From the moment you arrive and they valley park your car you know the experience will be perfect and memorable. We had drink first before sitting. The room, staff and service were first class. We had had tea in other hotels and this excelled with the... More

Luxurious surroundings and excellent service, as you would expect from a hotel of this quality. We went for the Wimbledon tea with a glass of Champagne, which was £65 pp- but beware there is also a service charge of @£16.50. However if this is an issue then perhaps this is not for you. It is an absolute treat; pure decadence... More

I took my friend here for a special birthday celebration. The entrance to the promenade has amazing flower displays. Everything is elegant and there is a lovely calm professional atmosphere. Gorgeous little cakes that melt in the mouth and every choice of tea imaginable. They also bring out a special birthday cake when it's someone's birthday. For a special treat... More

Wife and I came here for tea and we're lucky enough to secure a last minute booking. They do have specific dress requirements (but can be flexible as they were with us since it was our anniversary) and recommend making a booking in advance. Impeccable and very attentive service Beautiful hotel and lobby Unlimited sandwiches, scones, jam, cake etc and... More

One of my favourite pastimes in London is a Saturday afternoon at The Promenade. The service is always impeccable. Beautiful sandwiches come flying coupled with the beautifully curated crockery. Coronation chicken and egg & watercress sandwiches are a must. The scones are so soft and warm. The little pastries at so precious looking that one would hesitate to eat them.... More

Staying in Mayfair

Neighborhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
