We brought our three children, aged 11-12, to celebrate their grandparents' birthdays. I was concerned it was going to be stuffy and not a comfortable experience. Quite the opposite- the staff were so kind to the children and made sure that one child who has a nut allergy could still have all the same yummy treats. The staff also brought... More

We received a very generous wedding gift of vouchers for champagne afternoon tea. We booked a few weeks beforehand with no issues. Arrived around 30 minutes before our booked time, had delicious, but not cheap cocktails in the Rivoli bar served with olives and nibbles. Went through to our table in the very grand afternoon tea venue in the centre... More

Was fully expecting to give a 5* review, but unfortunately I can't. The sandwiches and cakes were fine, but nothing special and I've certainly had better scones elsewhere. However, the seating is extremely cramped and the table was barely large enough - and the room was cold, meaning we both ate with our coats on. On entering the hotel there... More

Service is incredible and attentive! I felt like a princess when they bought out a birthday cake for me and they played the happy birthday song on the piano. The afternoon tea itself is royal, the tea is top quality and the scones were fresher than fresh. Not one thing can be faulted! Immaculate afternoon tea experience . Will most... More

6 of us had a lovely time on Saturday afternoon at The Ritz having a champagne afternoon tea. The sandwiches, scones, tea and cake were sublime and the service was second to none. Very considerate towards one member of or party who is expecting and the birthday boy. Cannot recommend this enough! Book early though if you're coming from abroad.

What an amazing experience! I don't even drink tea but still thoroughly enjoyed. The sandwiches, cakes and scones were absolutely delicious as was the glass of champagne! The staff were very attentive and the atmosphere perfect. I loved every minute of it!

Staying in St. James's

Neighborhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
