Very limited selection of sandwiches and desserts. The teas were nice. The Ritz branded Champagnes we had were absolutely fine. They kept bringing out more of the same sandwiches which was good for my hubby. The interior of the hotel was grand. The service was just average. One waiter told us we had to wait til our food was brought... More

Nice champagne. Very good sandwiches. The rest was luke warm, literally in the case of my tea. Not a patch on Cliveden or Berkeley, both in terms of food and service. Piano much too intrusive particularly repeated renditions of birthday tune.

I was underwhelmed by the occasion The sandwiches were not very nice or even interesting I can make better scones myself and the cakes very ordinary I know there is a debate about whether one should have butter as well as cream I like both I would have liked some to be provided I thought it was very over priced... We were looking forward with great anticipation to our afternoon tea which was a gift from a family member for my birthday. Unfortunately the service was quite poor and we felt very overlooked and then we were asked if we had finished after only being there for an hour. The quality of the food was quite average .They gave us... More

We did high tea here for Easter "brunch", and I can not say enough nice things about the staff. Obviously, the Ritz is the Ritz for a reason, but we had a 4 year old, and a 2 year old with us. My 4 year old got sick and vomited on the table, to which the waiter didn't flinch. He... More

We asked to have our photo taken which was done so well infact more than one was taken. we offered many times more sandwiches or cakes, they keep coming round to pour our tea out for us. I asked... The service at the Ritz is excellent. The food is good but there are other places offering food of the same standard or even better. Pay for the ambience and an experience of traditional British afternoon tea.

Went for afternoon tea as a celebratory event with my daughter and husband. We had a fabulous time and nothing was to much for the staff who were attentive, courteous and knowledgeable. The food was superb - nice range of sandwiches, excellent scones with jam and crew (nicely warmed) followed by cakes both at the table and from a trolley... More

I thought that I was very lucky to be taken to the Ritz, Piccadilly, London for Mothers' Day this year. Very plush decor and attentive waiters. My daughter had telephoned months ahead to order a vegan afternoon tea for us, and a non-vegetarian one for my son. My son's sandwiches were very middle of the road, and his cakes were... More

See attached photo of the tablecloth.... Not what one would expect at The Ritz..... Walls shabby and marked.... No top up of teacup by the waiters though it was done on other tables.... Overall the service was a bit stilted and the waiter describing the sandwiches was not very confident and it was all a bit laboured.

Staying in St. James's

Neighborhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
