About
Liman’s menu features dishes from the “Fertile Crescent” to the Levant, which have passed the long test of history, faithful to the hearths of old while also embracing the soil and life of their new land, with ingredients acquired fresh daily. But some vital ingredients can only be brought from Turkey, like pistachios from Antep, dried rose petals, tart pomegranate molasses, sumac, local pepper flakes and dried apples. The wine list is also created with an eye to the lands represented on the menu. But whatever Liman prepares and serves, its guests remain the most vital element. Because Liman is our home, and the rhythm of our lives.

All the fishes were exceptional. The dolmades, stuffed with beef and with a reduction of red wine was sublime. I can’t wait to go back!

Visited again and up to the usual high standards. However there was some of the magic missing compared to my previous visit. Service was a little less organised and personable and the dishes were not so well presented. I gained the impression that the number...of tables had been reduced. No sign of the 2 ladies who run the restaurant. Price has gone up as well like everywhere. Cost of dinner for 2 was £80 including service and modest drinks. Note that 2 of use shared a main. I shall return in the future.More

We didn’t have a booking and we were very lucky to get a seat in this busy warm restaurant. The service was exceptional and the restaurant was cosy but lively. The food was super tasty - the cauliflower main was huge ! The starters were...great and big in portion size aswell. They even got us some component baklava which was lovely too. Had a fantastic evening and would definitely return - but would probably book next time just in case. :)More

We have just returned from a weekend in London staying in the Kings Cross area and then meant one thing.... a return to Liman. It was just as good as the first time we visited in the summer. The food here is definitely not your...average Turkish fayre. It is elevated to fine dining! The chefs are incredibly talented and produce delicate, beautifully flavoured dishes. It is also a beautiful restaurant with a lovely ambience and good service. It will be a go to place whenever we are in the capital.More

We returned to Islington so had to return to Liman. They are still maintaining their outstanding offer, great food, great service and a welcoming atmosphere. We would recommend anything on the menu but at a push would say the highlight are the lamb chops.

We were a party of six friends celebrating a birthday and having read the excellent reviews of LIMAN thought we’d give dinner there a try. We certainly weren’t disappointed! One of our party had the Mix Grill which looked amazing and apparently tasted delicious, I...had the Courgette Fritters followed by the Sea Bream and my boyfriend had the Seared Scallops followed by Lamb Beyti. I can’t remember what everyone else had but all the dishes were beautifully presented. The manager, Sam, and his staff were professional and friendly, advising us on the menu and making recommendations when we asked for advice. They didn’t ‘hover’ over us while we ate but were readily available if we needed anything. We all had a wonderful evening and look forward very much to returning there for our next birthday celebration!More

Had lunch at Liman this past Friday...here are my thoughts: Ambiance is nice. The restaurant was quiet on a Friday afternoon. Service is oddly unfriendly and our attempts at conversation left us looking really awkward. Food is overall delicious! I highly recommend the cauliflower and...the roasted potatoes. My husband had the chicken and said it was fine but nothing special. I was surprised that no bread was offered to start (love Turkish bread). Prices are fine, maybe a bit high for the quantity. Not sure we'd return since it's kind of out of our way...but if we do I'll definitely get the cauliflower again!More

Second time going there and it was still as good. Cosy setting, welcoming staff, and the food is just amazing! They did their best to find us a table even though we went as a large group without booking.

Myself and my partner like Turkish food and eat out at Turkish restaurants alot but the food at Liman was next level for both of us. Everything I ate, from the houmous to the bread, the halloumi, and my chicken shish main course were the...best I have ever tasted. So much flavour in everything, we absolutely loved it. If I didn't live in Yorkshire I would be here every week but next time I am in London this will definitely be top of my list of places to eat.More

Tucked away near Chapel market this restaurant is easy to miss but not easy to forget; everything was excellent from the cocktails, the service and the food was probably the best Turkish I’ve had in London. The mixed grill is definitely worth trying and the...quail adds a unique touchMore

Hey there, I would definitely recommend the restaurant for a romantic evening. About the bread, I am not really shure. But I believe you can order it separately. Hope this helps. Best wishes.
