An excellent burger, ready in minutes - so much better than mass produced cr*p from any nearby chain outlet. Thank you Angie, Barry and Team!

Happened along by chance, staying in nearby accomodation. Very much enjoyed the atmosphere and the fish and chips were excellent. Service was also excellent.

First day came down, round about 8:45 at night to be told that the kitchen had shut due to a back log on food. Thought still had 15 mins but no worries we can grab from elsewhere later, sat for a drink but no music,...was very busy on this day. The next day we came down earlier to ensure we was in in time. When we got in this time there was music, we sat looking at menu to have the same lady as the day before come over and say the kitchen was back logged and couldn’t serve us again. There was only roughly 4 other tables in at this time and thought it was worth pushing to get served as we was 45 mins before the website said and it was second day that they was doing this. They was friendly enough to let us order. Upon ordering our first 2 meal choices was sold out. The fish and Sunday roast. We settled on burgers each, 1 chicken 1 beef. Added a drink as these came with one, again first 2 choices sold out dark fruits and carling. Our food arrived 11 minutes after ordering, must have been a massive backlog they told us about. The fries was overcooked, lettuce was pink/brown, and the beef burger was tiny. The chicken burger came without bacon as advertised, but they gave us onion rings instead, shame neither of us like them. Overall, awful food, poor service, poor choice. Whilst waiting 5 separate groups came in and was turned away for kitchen being closed before the time advertised.More

Wow, I am really shocked reading your experience at my pub. This is not how we normally operate, and whilst it is no excuse, I have been on holiday for 2 weeks and can only apologise for the way my team behaved and treated you...More

Picked at random. Sat and ate delicious fish and chips - very large portions. Good value for money. I would go again.

Happened upon this lunch on a busy Friday afternoon. The tables were a bit of a mess and it seemed they only had one waiter and the bartender doing all of the cleaning and delivering of food after you ordered at the bar. Took awhile...to get our food. Realized after looking at the menu and ordering drinks, that this pub is one of the ones that has standardized menus at each venue. I ordered a cheeseburger and my husband ordered steak and kidney pie that he waited all week to order. My burger was overcooked and dry, and my husband's pie was all crust with little meat/gravy and little flavor. Overall, pretty average food that we waited quite a long time to get.More

Three isn't good enough in our books, what could we have done to get your rating to five stars?

I visited here for Lunch, as I had a mobile voucher for a free drink. I ended up ordering Bangers and Mash for lunch, a glass of house red wine with my voucher, and I ordered another large glass of the house red wine and...I really enjoyed my visit. The food and red wine were very tasty, friendly service and a relaxing atmosphere. Usual London Pub, which I really enjoyed. Well worth a visit.More

The food was outstanding! The staff were very friendly, especially Barry a chef who went out of his way to get our food out so we didn’t miss our train. Highly recommend it here 👌

I admit we were first attracted by the lovely ambience of The Lucas Arms--both outside and inside. But we went back a second time because the food was really good. The roasted tomato soup and fish and chips are great. Steak and Guinness pie was...okay--pastry was tough. With over 31 one types of gin and several local beers and ciders, the libations are just as good. The place is understaffed, but the staff works hard and efficiently and they are tremendously friendly. Fun place on a Friday night--lots of locals and tourists, but not crazy.More
