I was with my sister who goes to UCL which is right around the corner. She told me about This place and that she loved it every time she went there. We went there for Lunch. This was probably the best italian food I had ever tasted, I ordered The Grilled Sea-Bass and for my sister, she ordered the Fettucine... More

I enjoyed many aspects of my dining experience at Il Fornello, specifically the food (a piping hot Eggplant Parmesan teeming with melted cheese), the service (our waiter changed midway through dinner, because of a shift change, and we found both gentleman to be delightful) and the unique "international feel" (an Italian restaurant where the staff has representatives who can speak... Me and some friends went there for lunch after a lecture to have real Italian food and it was delicious!!!! We tried some excellent homemade pasta with pesto sauce, carbonara and arrabbiata and they where all very good. The service was so kind and we had so much fun !!! It was great that they also had gluten free pasta... More

This place has a great Italian atmosphere, a very good pizza, a truly friendly staff, and sometimes it has live music (piano). Strongly recommended!

Tried this restaurant on my own whilst staying at a local hotel. This is my kind of Italian. Nice welcome with an authentic family run feel. I tried the set menu - whitebait starter followed by chicken breast in sauce with vegetables. Both really good and generous portions. Very good value. The house wine was nicely drinkable and is available... More

I have a particularly soft spot in my heart for this delightful family owned restaurant. It was recommended to me by my aunt and uncle who visited the cozy down to earth restaurant on each of their many visits to London. It's become a tradition to stop in at least once more often twice or thrice to enjoy excellent home... More

We visited tonight and had a pizza each, I had a glass of pinot grigio and my husband had a pint of peroni. Pizza was okay but a bit thick with not enough tomato sauce or cheese. The shock came with the bill when we realised we had been charged £9 for a glass of wine, I did query it... More

Visited with a groupon voucher and were made to feel most welcome. The restaurant had a friendly family-run atmosphere with a few Italians popping in for coffee standing at the bar and chatting to the maitre d' and the waitress. Starters: the bruschetta was loaded with fresh tomato, and the stuffed mushrooms were delicious. We had pizza as a main... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
