Stopped for a drink walking from the Tower of London to Westminster, great little place, a bit like the Tardis inside. Decided to have food. The menu wasn't huge but we had burger and the lamb. Fantastic. A bit pricey but well worth it. We...enjoyed our food looking out over the river Thames.More

An interesting pub tucked away near cannon street bridge, some outside space but seems to shut up quite early for a city pub.

Having been let down by another bar in EC4R I had to call around to find another venue for 8 colleagues at 15-mins notice. The Banker delivered. Clearly convenience of having spare seats at that time was great for us, but the team at The...Banker was great Great pub food at great prices. Thanks guysMore

I visited this pub along with my wife, on the 3rd September 2021. I had a pint of London Pride, and my wife had a Baileys with ice. However my wife's first choice of drink was a Coffee, and although I could see the coffee...machine behind the bar all lit up, I was told that the coffee machine was closed, what was obviously a lie. Now people visit pubs for a nice atmosphere and a decent drink with a reasonable amount of service, as with most London pubs the prices are rip off anyway, and as we are paying a lot of money we can be forgiven for expecting first class service. The young lady in question was simply too lazy to be bothered to use the coffee machine.More

We visited the Banker pub in October, 2019, for lunch during a day of sight-seeing. A friend recommended it as we were wanting to have lunch on the Thames. We ordered their "Fuller's Frontier battered haddock & chips, crushed peas, tartare sauce, lemon (£14.00) and...an order of rosemary salted chips/fries. The haddock was tasty and had a good batter on it. The chips were good and I enjoyed the rosemary. The "crushed peas" were disgusting, but I don't eat peas in general, so I'll let that slide. They have a large draught beer selection and we chose one of our favorites, Peroni Nastro Azzurro. We sat outside, overlooking the Thames on a typical cloudy London day. Great place for lunch in the City!More

It’s cold and wet in London today but The Banker is a little haven of hospitality and warmth. Tables inside overlooking the river. Good drinks and an interesting looking menu. Shame the pool table wasn’t free or we’d have been here a while.

This place is just ok. Their 20% off coupon is questionable and you need to push to be able to use it. The food is ok and there isn’t a lot of it. The service is pretty poor with the wrong order coming out and...common sense not employed. There isn’t really a lot of choice in this part of London unfortunately.More

So the pub is on the banks of the Thames. Some reviews say “wonderful views”. Well yes, you can see The Thames which is dirty grey and full of litter. This is not my idea of a view. It’s the Friday before Christmas so naturally...it was packed full of office workers at 4pm. Shoulder to shoulder. Having found a table, a waitress took our drink order and very quickly brought them to us. So far so good. We ordered food and here is where it gets silly. I ordered the burger with chips. Whilst the meal came quickly and was hot enough, the portion size would have left a toddler hungry. A child sized handful of chips and a Hobbit sized burger. Shocking for the money!! It was perfectly edible but nothing special at all. Two stars for the quick and polite service.More

Hidden down a side road in the City and looking over the Thames, this place is a bit of a hidden place, but well known to local workers. It was quite crowded on a Thursday night near Christmas, but not unpleasantly so. We stayed all...evening and had drinks which were served efficiently and with a smile. There is a restaurant but we didn't use it this time. Nicely decorated for Christmas and a good atmosphere. I have been here before and would definitely go back again.More
