Stopped in for dinner on our last night in town. Pleasantly surprised by the great wine list and delicious small plates. We ordered one of the suggested dinners and very happy with the spicy feta cheese dip, grilled pita bread, shrimp, lamb and chicken wings. Dessert was just as good along with a shot of ouzo. Would definitely come back!

Popped in and enjoyed a lovely meal late one night. The stomsphere was nice and simple style restaurant with view of the Thames. Offering both indoor or outdoor dining. Our table shared a package meal, this was good value and exposing us to delicious Greek food. The staff were friendly and would recomend for a moderate price option. Another great... More

We'd been to a crazy but really fun Midsummer Night's Dream at Shakepeare's Globe and been terribly disappointed with the food offerings in the courtyard. The Real Greek is just round the corner and offers great food, well presented with friendly service in a very clean and comfortable environment. We had a minor problem after ordering chicken souvlaki (skewers) and... More

Despite being Friday lunch time, and therefore very busy, I was very impressed by the excellent service here today. The food was scrumptious and the £8.95 meal deal very good value. House red wine was excellent.

I've been here with a friend and we just ordered a mix of all the appetizers. everything was great and after been in greece I can confirm everything was very close to the original taste :) the location can be quite romantic even if there is not much space between tables (i'm talking about the tables outside the place) just... Me and my friends like coming back to his restaurant due to fantastic evening atmosphere, live music and a Greek spirit which we like. The food we had before was always delicious and we were never disappointed. However, unfortunately this has changed since our last visit. The portions seem to be smaller and taste is not the same as used... More

My wife and I have eaten here several times, the latest just last week. The service is rapid and the food is great; the mezes selection is excellent. We usually choose the Peloponnese selection for 2 people, with a good blend of cold food (the tzatziki is particularly good) and then the hot range of meaty skewers is very tasty.

We popped into this restaurant to get out of the rain! it was very busy, but we were pleasantly surprised with themenu choices, quality of the food and service. we sat next to some Greek people who told us how authentic it was, so we went with a set menu for two and enjoyed it all! The service was pretty... More

Was my work Christmas do last year, wouldn't personally chose Greek cuisine but as it was my company's choice I didn't have a say! It was horrible, the sharing platters are tiny, and at £18 each, and absolute rip off. Came out hungry £50 down would never go there again and would certainly not recommend.

Just because Southbank is really busy and it's hard to get a pre-theatre table without booking is no excuse for poor service and lack-lustre food. The dolmades were really stodgy and over cooked. The lamb was tasteless & tough. The waiter was very impatient and couldn't even be bothered to say please or thank you.

The Real Greek is not only a must for anyone visiting London but is also a favourite among Londoners themselves and at Bankside, we pride ourselves in providing our customers with a wide variety of the finest quality of freshly cooked Mediterranean food.
Perfectly located next door to the Globe theatre and only a few steps from the Tate Modern, Bankside is in an ideal spot for any occasion. Again serving the authentic Mezedes, Souvlakis and Sharers, our venue has plenty to offer for both business and pleasure. Being situated on the banks of the River Thames, this restaurant draws anyone walking past and we do recommend you make a booking.
We have live Bouzouki Music every Friday & Saturday evening from 7:30pm

Staying in Southwark

Neighborhood Profile
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighborhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
