Food was ok, nothing amazing. Good atmosphere but staff a bit slow and not particularly friendly. Won't be rushing back.

I'd wanted to try the Real Greek for a long time and finally went to this one on Bankside. The lamb was particuarly good and we enjoyed both the other dishes we tried and the Greek beer. Lovely riverside location and good atmosphere. We had the Greek version of tapas dishes but they have mains as well. It would be... More

We booked a weekend in London and had dinner at The Real Greek, Bankside this evening. We arrived just before 8 and it was already very busy but thankfully we had made a reservation. Greek food is one of our favourite cuisines and we weren't disappointed. We ordered the hummus with flatbread, loukanika sausages, chicken skewers, lamb meatballs, grilled halloumi,... More

Great location, great service-everyone has a genuine smile on their faces-and GREAT food! The grean pea fava is to die for, and so are the skewers. We will definitely put this restaurant on our top 'comfort food' restaurants. Desserts were amazing as well!

Great location, accessible, friendly staff, good food - but at the end of the day it just didn't 'do it' for me (or my colleagues). I can't put my finger on it - maybe my expectations were just too high. I wonder if , like a good shop window, the place invites you to visit, but when you get inside... More

This restaurant always seems very busy and its definitely worth booking ahead to save being disappointed. We selected a variety of dishes including the Melitzanosalata (lovely smoked aubergine, garlic, shallots and lemon), the giant beans in a rich tomato sauce, the lamb meatballs, the belly pork, the med chicken and lamb kebabs. We couldnt fault any of the dishes and... More

Crossing the millenium bridge towards Globe Theatre, we came across this greek restaurant. It was quite busy on a Saturday afternoon and we decided to have a quick lunch. Most of the tables at the covered terrace facing the river were occupied and we were shown to a table inside. We ordered three hot mezes and a side dish of... More

Accidentally found this restaurant today and so glad we did. Not only was the food excellent, the welcome and service was warm and welcoming. We did a mix and match with the lunch menu which was ridiculously good value. It's not often I feel like licking the plate but it was touch and go today. The aubergine with halloumi was... More

Had a lovely lunch today at this restaurant, I had grilled chicken salad, which was a mixture of home made slaw, couscous fruit salad and mixed baby leafs, toms & cucumber, really different to a standard salad. Lovely atmosphere and a great place to catch up with friends.

Staying in Southwark

Neighborhood Profile
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighborhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
