Having eaten here before we thought we knew what we were expecting. We chose to eat here knowing that it served gluten free dishes, due to one of us having an allergy to wheat. However we pleasantly surprised to find a wider range of choices meeting our requirements, and in such a simple menu. The food was delicious, though we... More

Had a table for 6 people on a Saturday night.. the cold mezzes were almost frozen and the hot mezzes were stone cold - chicken was almost pink.. two dishes were sent back - extremely over priced for what is offered. Had to get more food on the way home as the set meals left people still hungry ... very... More

We were staying in the area and after some drinks found this place. We ate in the outside sheltered area they have patio areas and it was great to have a view and warmth. The menu had plenty of choice, the dishes are served afternoon tea style on a cake stand which gives you plenty of room on the table.... More

The servive was very attentive. The food had many choices, all the (7) dishes we ordered were delicious. The atmosphere was very pleasant as there was some quiet live guitar music. We liked it so much that we will go back and recommend it to our friends and family.we felt that it was good value for money.

Good food and service, a great way to experience Greek cuisine. Somewhat adapted though, which would be fine but the name claims real :) had a good french wine in the list for the price point

My friend and I chanced a table late Sunday evening without a booking. We popped our heads in to ask if we could be accommodated and we were in luck. We were shown a table in the centre of the room, the place was still quite lively and a good atmosphere dispute being quite late on a Sunday. We ordered... More

My friend had the chicken salad hardly any chicken. The setting is lovely and I guess thats what you pay for. Very disapointed as I had been to... More

Great location with great views of the Thames and the City of London. There is even an outside dining area for warmer parts of the year. The staff were pleasant enough if a little slow and the food was pretty authentic and good value (I had the £11.99 Athena menu plus another meat dish) though a little plain for my... More

The Real Greek is not only a must for anyone visiting London but is also a favourite among Londoners themselves and at Bankside, we pride ourselves in providing our customers with a wide variety of the finest quality of freshly cooked Mediterranean food.
Perfectly located next door to the Globe theatre and only a few steps from the Tate Modern, Bankside is in an ideal spot for any occasion. Again serving the authentic Mezedes, Souvlakis and Sharers, our venue has plenty to offer for both business and pleasure. Being situated on the banks of the River Thames, this restaurant draws anyone walking past and we do recommend you make a booking.
We have live Bouzouki Music every Friday & Saturday evening from 7:30pm

Staying in Southwark

Neighborhood Profile
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighborhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
