Had late lunch here on Saturday, table was ready within 5 minutes. Slow to take the drink order but it didn't bother us as were happy to chat. Starters were excellent and our main courses were very good, disappointed that they ran out of rice and could only offer new potatoes or chips and didn't tell us until all the... More

We ate here late on Saturday afternoon. We hadn't booked but we were seated straight away. The restaurant is large and they seated a lot of walk ins while we were there although those arriving closer to 6 were given a time frame when they would need the table back by. Tables were close together but we did not feel... More

Booked a table for 2 at The Real Greek on a Saturday Night. The food was good but the service was rubbish. We were told our booked table had been given away on arrival and would have to wait at the bar. Our server wasn't the happiest person and was reluctant to bring us our starters and mains at the... Recommend the place by friends, for our visit to London. Arrived just before our booking at 7 and seated in the far corner of the restaurant, (on a dirty table stuck in front of a fire exit!!). We left just before 7:20 after being ignored by all staff. Tried to be patient but when manager who seated us, squeezed past... More

Great place to eat by the river. Lovely food and lovely views, what more could you want. Service was good and they were great with kids.

Decided to book a table for valentines date. What a great place, the food was stunning, service was steady but not pushy, quite laid back. The way I like it... We sat outside under cover with the heat lamps in the ceiling, there were blankets available if needed. This restaurant is right on The Thames, great view from the south... More

We ate here on a Sunday night. The location, I would imagine, would be lovely in the summer when you can sit outside overlooking the river. We choose the set Peloponnese menu which consisted of 7 or 8 tapas style dishes. They were presented on nice tiered stands but both stands came out together, so by the time we had... More

A friend and I shared a lunch here after seeing an exhibition at the New Tate. We didn't choose the bargain lunch menu, but lots of other dishes, which did not disappoint. Service was excellent, and the taramasalata and prawns with feta were outstanding.

Staying in Southwark

Neighborhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighborhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
