A simple dept store cafe nothing more or less, food and coffee were fine. Staff were helpful, carried my drinks to our table.

Filthy chipped cups Toilet soap splashes and stains clothes I only visit for free tea but would never pay. In fact even wondering if it us worth the trauma for a free tea!

You don't usually come to a department store for fine dining and the top floor of Peter Jones doesn't pretend to be anything more than an oasis between sessions of retail therapy. It's a vast, if sparse and soul-less area, with most people squashed over by the windows for the unprepossessing view of the Chelsea rooftops. Anyone coming up from... More

My friend, our combined three daughters and I came to the Top Floor last Sunday. My daughter had no problem filling a kids lunch bag with a sandwich and 4 items. My friends daughter, however, has allergies and couldn't eat the cheese & mayo sandwiches (the only type on offer). My friend, a regular to the Top Floor, said she... More

You can't beat this cafe for a bit of an escape from the hurly-burly below. Coffee and cake is fairly standard but nice enough, service was pretty good- young staff, all friendly and efficient but the real bonus is the view- grab a table by the window and sit back and relax with morning coffee or a light lunch.

We often find that department stores cafes have good views so we were at a loose end and wandered into Peter Jones and tried the cafe on the 6th floor. I bagged a window seat which had a nice view but not great. The coffee was reasonable. Cafe full of Kensington ladies.

Excellent view! Lots of seating near the windows for a great view of the city! Espresso Drinks are perfect and the food is fresh and served quickly and is very reasonable. This is a fab place to rest for a cup of tea or coffee in your journeys!

The first time for us on the top floor. We just wanted a coffee and imagined that the espresso bar would offer a better version than the machine coffee available opposite. After a lengthy wait in the queue we finally got our americano and macchiato - both tasteless and lukewarm. We won't be making a second visit.

Staying in Chelsea

Neighborhood Profile
Wealth courses through The King's Road, Chelsea's upmarket artery of West London life packed with shops, eateries and glitzy nightspots. For people-watching at its best and luxury retail therapy that's largely unrivalled, this area cannot be missed. But if this showy street starts to overwhelm or a moment of price tag shock sends you reeling, a quick detour down pretty much any of many King's Road veins will reveal a quieter side of Chelsea. Here the stately Royal Hospital hosts its world-famous flower show, and the Thames rolls along at a lazy pace, with leafy Battersea Park and its Peace Pagoda beckoning from across the river.
