I am a frequent customer at Taro, and I have to say this place has become my choice whenever I crave Japanese food in soho.

Lovely food, good value, great atmosphere - not somewhere to go if you want a drink (apart from beer) with dinner.

A small little restaurant specialising in Japanese cuisine. The food is excellent and service is extremely quick!

A very modest setting, with relatively low level service although the owner, Mr. Taro (his face is on the menu) is a funny little man. However, the prices are decent and the food is quite good. I have had lunch and dinner there several times with friends and we always enjoyed it. Taro is one of my favourite japs in... More

This is my favourite sushi restaurants in soho. I go here a few times a year and never had a bad time. For the price the food is brilliant. I always come out stuffed and order at least 3 dishes Service is standard but I do not expect 5* treatment for the type of restaurants. It's a little cramped at... More

Busy venue with simple layout & a lovely menu that caters for most discerning of diners on the go. I ordered my usual Beef Bento (medium) and a platter of mixed sushi. This was most delicious. The only cock up was when we paid (in cash) they'd asked if we'd paid as we exited the venue. How embarrassing.

During an outing to London my young grand-daughter asked if we could eat Sushi! This small, unpretentious restaurant tucked away in Soho delivered an excellent lunch. There was a large choice and as I am not knowledgeable about Japanese food we shared a platter of Sushi! It was superb! Beautifully presented on a wooden platter and very tasty. My friend... More

Tasty Asian food and amazing price. Service is really good, no need a reservation. Ramen, Noodles and roasted duck are the best dishes, not the sushi.

I have discovered this restaurant through their other branch on Cannon Street, where I now often get my takeaway lunch, but I think this one is their main outlet. It is not particularly large and the interior is very unpretentious. However, food is very good and rather authentic. It is not expensive, an average dish is around £10. The service... More

The location of this little gem is not difficult to find, on SOHO Brewer st and it has another one on Cannon st but shut on Sunday. I would say the shop doesn't have fancy interior, just plain tables and chairs with a sushi bar. What it can offer is beyond you can think of: huge selection of Bentos, Ramens... More

Staying in Soho

Neighborhood Profile
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
