Great Chicken Terriyaki and other standard Japanese dishes. Friendly and courteous service. Been coming here for many years.

After reading plenty of good reviews I had high hopes.... I did not think it was reasonably priced, I have had better sushi in soho for cheaper before. It was not bad food though and the staff were friendly... I would not go back though.

Service was really good, friendly and efficient. The food was really good, portions are quite big as well! We sat at the bar facing the kitchen and could see the food being prepared which was nice. Reasonable prices too, would definitely recommend. One thing, we (a table of 2) had 10% service charge added to our bills (paid separately) and... More

There is no shortage of great Japanese food in and around Soho, but I keep coming back to Taro. The atmosphere is really chilled out and friendly, and I've always been able to get a seat, even during busy Saturday services. I particularly like their bento box selection, but I've never had bad food here! Also, with an open kitchen... More

Saddest seafood noodle gloop ever. One can only assume tinned muscles and old shrimp used for bait were in the dish. 3 bites and in the bin. Noodles were overlooked glue.

Working just around the corner from Taro and dropped in for some din dins, well what can I say, the food was spot on really really good and prices very reasonable, the only problem I had I wanted to eat everybody else's food who were sitting around me, the portion are quite large so even better. If you get the... More

Have been numerous times, the chicken teriyaki is really good. Super flavourful and particularly filling. Don't be fooled by the sign, even with brown rice it isn't healthy! But the perfect cure to combat the usual Thursday hangover

Went there for Una Ju (Eel rice), the taste is OK but not excellent, but can be expected, cause they serve many different type of Japanese food, so I won't expect that their Una Ju is as professional as the one I tried in Japan. I would say it's worth to try but not something a must.

After having cake and coffee, we decide to have something light for dinner. We both decided to have soup ramen and it comes in a big bowl. They also have good selection of sushi but we couldn't manage this as we had desert but dinner. Been to Taro many time as the quality of food is at high standard and... More

Soho is one of our constants while in London. Many of our favourite locations are within walking distance. This time we stopped nearly EVERY evening at the Taro for an excellent Japanese dinner and a couple of ice cold Asahis. My wife was thrilled by the very tastily decorated and cooked Bento Box with Tempura,Sashimi,Rice and Miso Soup. I had... More

Staying in Soho

Neighborhood Profile
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
