Not as big as most Fullers pubs and a limited menu. Having said that, all the items on the menu looked very tempting. We ordered hummus (with pitta and black olives) and a charcuterie board for 2. Both were delicious and good value. Both the ladies behind the bar were really helpful and pleasant (this is not a given in central London pubs). One helped us take our supper to the upstairs "Wine Room" - a very quiet oasis of a room. A very nice evening. We wnat to go back to try the toasties and the Scotch eggs.

A small and very traditional pub provided an enjoyable evening drink. The bar staff are very friendly and welcoming and there’s a good range of drinks on offer. It’s also great that they have a wine tasting machine - purchase a card and dispense as much or little of each bottle to sample different varieties. Just a shame there weren’t many bottles included. The atmosphere is relaxing, with no background music and the small size means there isn’t much chatter. Toilets are upstairs along with another space. My only complaint would be the very high prices - a double gin and glass of wine came to almost thirty pounds which felt very excessive. But otherwise I’d recommend for a relaxing and peaceful evening.

We went here early evening on our way to the Charterhouse Open Garden evening. It was nice to stop here for a beer and we found it to be a relaxing atmosphere with comfy chairs. There were very few people in here at this time but perhaps this was due to the train strike on that day. The staff were friendly and efficient.

This pub is down a side street near Barbican tube station. The first impression is that it is really clean, well lit and spacious. We called in for a quick drink, I had a glass of wine and my friend had a tea. All was very nicely served by friendly staff. I recommend it!

Popped in for drinks on way back to our Airbnb. Staff are friendly and reasonable priced drinks as well. Will return when in the area again.

Lovely watering hole. Superb team headed by Sammy. She made us feel very welcome. We only had drinks this time but I have sampled their toasties on a previous occasion and they are delicious. A genuine find.

We came in to shelter from the rain, and only ordered coffee and tea, but this was willingly given and the filer coffee was excellent. Had we not been meeting elsewhere for lunch I'd certainly have had a pint of bitter here. It obviously serves City suits well - it's just round the corner from the Barbican - and is deservedly popular without being crowded. The staff we saw were young and cheery. A good find.

Went here for a quick drink before a booking for afternoon tea at a well known nearby hotel/restaurant. I liked this traditional pub and the staff were very welcoming and keen to let me know about the different lagers on offer. The smell from the toasties was delicious and I think we would have stayed, except of the booking we already had nearby. There was an eclectic mix of people - it was busy but not overcrowded. We will definitely go back and try the toasties.

We visited The Sutton Arms at lunchtime following a graduation ceremony. The happy ambience in this absolute gem of an eatery can be put down to good quality food and drink at competitive prices, served by knowledgeable, helpful and happy staff with a great ‘can do’ ethos. So glad we chose this place for our celebration - it was full of equally happy customers. Thanks guys!

A group of us annually visit London, in this area, but have never been here before. A cheery welcome, efficient service. Lovely ales; nice range of drinks to chose from. Clean & tidy, relaxing atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We agreed this pub deserves to be added to our chose of locations next time

My nursing graduating class (Bart’s) celebrated our 30 year reunion at the Sutton Arms recently and the staff were exceptionally helpful, checking frequently that all was well, the food was very good and the room we had upstairs was great for our group.

Clerkenwell
Owing to its proximity to Smithfield Market – the site of an ancient meat market which remains in operation today – Clerkenwell boasts a plethora of globally renowned restaurants, fabulous local eateries, and some of London's favorite pubs. This isn't merely a focal point for all things foodie though. Spend enough time wondering through the area's maze of streets and you might become accustomed to the litany of slinky models passing between Clerkenwell's handful of fashion houses. Far outnumbering the models are craftspeople and designers, many of them are more than happy to welcome visitors into their studios and showrooms.
