We were staying a 15 minute walk away and ate here after a long day wandering around London art shows. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the food was really tasty. We began our evening outside and ended lounging on the huge leather sofa with a great bottle of Malbec. Very friendly and relaxed atmosphere and great place... More

Visited Phoenix with 4 friends on Sunday for some drinks and some dessert. The place was quite quiet but nevertheless it was still nice. The staff were accommodating and friendly and the atmosphere was nice and relaxed. They have plenty of board games too if you fancy a game of Sunday afternoon Scrabble!

We had a few hours to kill in between lunch and the concert at the Royal Hospital. We found the Phoenix a few minutes away from the gates of the hospital and settled in. The staff were great, the pub is very comfortable and the food, even though we didn't eat, looked great. We'll certainly be back.

Okay, they have done some redecorating which looks nice. But, what has happened to the food and service. It took 90 minutes to get served some very simple main courses. No explanation or apology. Zero management available on a Friday night. While the food was fair in light of the price, the overall experience was terrible and should be avoided... More

Tucked away off the busy Kings Road just down from Sloane Square, very smart and busy pub/restaurant, well heeled clientele but prices still ok for this part of town. Nicely decorated and spotlessly clean, quick and very friendly service, worth seeking out.

Phoenix has consistently good food, great staff and a cosy atmosphere. Hadn't been for a couple of years and revisited last night- will return for sure and recommend to all.

Lazy Rainy Sunday in London. Left the flat in the rain for a quick lunch out and remembered one of more chilled out pubs. Posh yet not pretentious - food is hearty and good. Great Easter with my lovely husband. Now for a bit of backgammon

Always excellent, friendly service with a warm, comfortable atmosphere and super food. I have never eaten here in the evening but it's a wonderfully busy local London pub with plenty of characters( including Chelsea Pensioners) and a great place to waste an afternoon feeling part of the crowd.

Description
This Smith Street pub, running directly south off Kings Road, once a hang-out of young trend followers, is now a regular haunt of the locals. They love the warm cosy atmosphere, not to mention the delightful menu that is refreshingly changed every week. Equally busy at lunch and dinner, The Phoenix takes bookings for both meals, or even if you just fancy a snack and a drink, you are welcome to come in. To the back of the pub is the dining room, where you can book a table for two or twenty and confidently expect to receive the same attentive service throughout the pub, no matter how large your group. Stan, the chef of The Phoenix, has been with Geronimo for many years and will be happy to serve up a selection of traditional British dishes for you.

Staying in Chelsea

Neighborhood Profile
Chelsea
Wealth courses through The King's Road, Chelsea's upmarket artery of West London life packed with shops, eateries and glitzy nightspots. For people-watching at its best and luxury retail therapy that's largely unrivalled, this area cannot be missed. But if this showy street starts to overwhelm or a moment of price tag shock sends you reeling, a quick detour down pretty much any of many King's Road veins will reveal a quieter side of Chelsea. Here the stately Royal Hospital hosts its world-famous flower show, and the Thames rolls along at a lazy pace, with leafy Battersea Park and its Peace Pagoda beckoning from across the river.
