We wandered into this restaurant on a the recommendation of family. The owner was charming, the food was delicious, we felt like we had all the time in the world even though it was getting late when we left. Splendid meal, splendid decor, tasty food and charming staff. London was meant to be like this

I went with a friend for Saturday lunch couple of weeks ago and I found great food, amazing wine and excellent service, friendly but professional. An advice: let Manu take care of you, make him suggest the wine and the food and talk about them while is serving you in the most elegant way. We are definitely coming back!

Having gone past this place many times on the way to grocery shopping was very curious to visit and it did not dissapoint. Visited mid evening on a Saturday and space for walkins - wine was surprisingly good for the price and food (we shared tapas) was interesting and tasty. One of the waiters was fantastic (one of the best... More

Found myself in the area while meeting some friends and remembered I had already popped in long time ago. It is as welcoming as I remember. From the minute we walked in we were welcomed in a very friendly way. Quick on the buzz the menus presented and drinks offered ( check out house cocktail: Kumquat Negroni... Delicious!!! ) The... Ricks wine tasting evenings are exciting feasts with five courses paired with 5 wines. This month Jose was the sommelier. He brought a range of Spanish wines. The chefs prepared a range of tapas raging from rabbit to ox cheeks marinaded in raisins and chocolate Yum! There was do much food we took done home. All ten of us loved... More

We were 4 for dinner on a Friday night during the Tooting Bec festival Tootopia. Ricks had been highly recommended by a few friends and this was our chance to see what all the fuss was about. Ricks is one of those restaurants that you know you are going like as soon as you walk in. No more than 30... More

I want to say that we were made to feel so welcome and the service was really personalised to each of our taste , our child included. The ham cut from fresh in front of us, and the food is so fresh and adventurous. I can only say good things, such a good moment !! Will definitely go back.

A fantastic small neighbourhood Spanish restaurant in Tooting - well worth travelling for. Relaxed vibe, great service, menu unfussy, cooked to perfection. 28 day aged rib is superb. Seafood and Vegetarian dishes delicious. We are rarely impressed but couldn't fault this one. Rick's on Mitcham Road stands out and we will definitely be back.

Our first visit to rick's and it won't be our last. This is a lovely little restaurant, with a very welcoming host and beautifully cooked dishes at a very reasonable price. We had tapas which is 3 dishes for £10 and it was delicious.

Thank Anthony W

Rick's Restaurant is Tooting's first and only Modern British and Modern European restaurant. Owned by Rick Gibbs, former Head Chef at the Chelsea Arts Club, this cosy and intimate dining establishment, previously known as Rick's Cafe, prides itself with the Tooting Community Good Neighbour Award and the Taste of Tooting Best Restaurant Award. With a daily changeable menu and open plan kitchen it is a real treat for any fan of Modern Spanish, English, French, Italian, Mediterranean and other Modern European cuisines, as well as for those seeking a classic British brunch, lunch or dinner. Whether it's been for business or pleasure, adults or children, vegetarian or meat lovers, Rick's unpretentious yet utterly delicious cooking has brought a fresh and unique eating out experience to the area, receiving the highest praise from critics and customers alike. As Rick uses only the freshest produce the only thing in his freezer is ice cream. Naturally, the lunch and dinner menus change daily, reflecting what is in season and what has just come off the boat or is locally available. However, old favourites like Rump or Rib-Eye Steak with hand-cut Chips & Chilli Jam and Sticky Toffee Pudding loyally remain. Favourite with diners are the artisan produced Spanish hams, French cheeses, Irish oysters, Shetland mussels, Crème brûlée and other homemade desserts. The Wine List boasts a great selection of Spanish wines with splashes of French, Italian, South African and South American at prices that won't break the bank.Eating at Rick’s Restaurant is like being a guest in Rick’s own home. He loves to be hands-on in the restaurant and will always take the time to talk to his guests, inviting them into the kitchen or sitting with them at their table to have a glass of wine or two. Essentially, Rick’s Restaurant provides comfort food with substance and intelligence without frills.
