I visited The Queens Head for lunch, on entering the pub I was met by the manager who took my details and explained the precautions owing to the ongoing pandemic, she was polite and professional and I felt that she cared for my and my friends welfare, something I really appreciated. I believe that they are doing their best in difficult circumstances. I felt very valued as a customer. We had a great table in their beautiful garden, very well maintained and relaxed. We were served at our table by courteous staff and nothing was too much trouble. We ate lunch, i had a chicken burger which was succulent and full of flavour, my friends said that their beef burger and ceasar salad was also delicious. We stayed for a couple more drinks and were made to feel very welcome. My advice to anyone who visits, adhere to the regulations (which are laid down by the government) treat the staff as you wish to be treated as they are doing their best in a very difficult situation, so remember a gratuity when paying your bill. I will definitely be returning to the Queens Head as I felt safe, secure and valued.

We were looking for a traditional pub for a birthday meal with a good Sunday roast and The Queen’s Head did just that and more! Definitely our favourite roast we’ve found in the Hammersmith area. We arrived early to our booking but it was not a problem to be sat down straight away and we were given a warm welcome. The pub is a good size but still has a cosy feel, so were given a choice of where we’d like to sit. The staff were really friendly throughout whilst being attentive. We were recommended their special lamb roast which my partner had - as described it fell off the bone and was delicious. I went for the beef which was also lovely too. Both came with a large Yorkshire pub, roasties, red cabbage with roasted veg (carrots, parsnips, beans) and plenty of gravy and mint sauce! The pub was also very mindful of the current COVID restrictions and made us feel very comfortable. We will definitely be back, hopefully very soon!

This is a lovely pub and the staff are lovely too. I was disappointed with the roast. The cauliflower cheese had no cheese sauce (it was very bland) and the roast potatoes were not crispy, in fact they were hard and fluffy inside. The best thing about the food was the oversized Yorkshire pudding. I left feeling £16 lighter and very underwhelmed.

The atmosphere was pretty quiet but seemed nice in the outdoor area, with a lovely communal space however, the service was prolonged with a stagnant flow of food being brought out. We went as a team from work, pre-booked, and the steak sandwiches were the first to show, buns were stale, steak overcooked with a deep desire for a carving knife to muster your way through the many layers of non-existent mustard and onion relish, as advertised. The cherry on the icing, however, was the mozzarella salad, weighing in at £9 for a couple of lettuce leaves, several sprigs on a rocket, and a giant blob of cheese, absolutely doused in olive oil. To say this was a salad, was an insult to the likes of caesar, Nicoise, and Greek. It's a pity as we choose this place for convenience but no more.

Hello Maximillioc2022 ,sorry to hear you were not happy on your visit , often if there's a group and you don't order all together the food might flow out at different times as we 're also dealing with other customers who also placed orders at the same time as you and lunch times can get pretty hectic in the garden . I fed your feedback to the chef regarding the steak sandwich and hopefully we'll get it right on your next visit but as far as the mozzarella it's a starter and not advertised as a salad but we'll make sure to put less olive oil dressing on next time , see you soon , Francesca

I'm not one to regularly write restaurant reviews but has a really poor experience here for lunch. Booked table for 4 as we had used before (pre-covid) and it was fine but this time it was just awful. Place seemed under-staffed and completely disorganised. WE had to wait one hour and 40mins for mains! And food was very, very poor, no idea who was cooking it. One meal was returned straight away (burger which was burn beyond recognition and well the fish and chips was cold and soggy. Staff were chaotic and whole this was awful start to finish. If they're not resourced or set up to meet demand then close the restaurant and stop taking bookings they can't meet. Such as shame as pub, location etc is very good but the rest is just shocking - avoid it until they sort themselves out.

This is a lovely pub.  I think it is all the little things that build up to give a wonderful warm feeling about a pub and you get that at Queens Head .... the friendly welcome from staff when you walk in, beautiful fresh flowers on the bar and a jar full of dog biscuits to keep our furry friends happy too! I particularly enjoyed the steak and ale pie - great pastry and very meaty filling, so would have that again another time.

This is a great pub which I've visited over many years and the staff were lovely so this review doesn't reflect on them. I booked a meal here and we were given a nice table but the issue comes from the food. We had so called beer battered haddock and triple cooked chips. It was disgusting. The chips were clearly french fries from the freezer and the fish also was some strange frozen fish. We couldn't finish our meal. At near £20 a customer should expect better. By leaving this review I'm hoping the management will take notice and stop trying to cut corners on the quality of their ingredients and fleecing customers in the process.

A traditional British pub which has been updated. The food is excellent with a variety of ‘pub grub’ options, the steak and ale pie was excellent combined with more specific options, I recommend the fresh crab on toast. The staff were very attentive and accommodating and the whole experience proved to be thoroughly relaxing.

i’m sorry to say I can only give this pub a negative review because when I visited and ordered two meals for £19 each I was charged £22 each. I didn’t understand what has happened until I’d already paid. When I pointed this out, the manager was not at all apologetic and ended up by only giving back part of the money. He said he couldn’t give us the full amount for some reason, but he did not even give offer us a free dessert instead, which would’ve been better than nothing. Also, the risotto when we got it was an incredibly small portion, something we expect as a starter. We are not people who are used to eating larger than normal amount. This restaurant is near where my cousin lives and it was recommended to us. Needless to say we won’t return and we will pass the word to other relatives, staying at my cousins house.

First day open after full lockdown! Me, my wife and two children afternoon treat, first time in over 3 months and it wasn’t a dissapointment at all, in fact Francesca & Michael has done an amazing job getting the pub ready for service and the service was as always second to none.. it is always a pleasure having lunch here and the staff are also so welcoming & warm. They also had 2 new Vegan dishes on the menu, we had the cripsy burger, soooo nice! Can’t wait to return soon.

I have been going to this pub for 3 years and often enjoyed myself there. I went there this week, since the lock down has been lifted and pubs have opened back up, and it has drastically changed. I organised a team work drinks at the Queen's Head as a reunion after lock down. We arrived slightly later than our reservation and the woman at reception was very aggressive and hostile towards our whole group. She was very disrespectful and rude, yelling in our faces. She went on to point her finger at me and tell me off as though I was a kid in school and described me as "naughty" for arriving late. She then went on a rant about how she was following government guidelines. I appreciate that she wanted to respect the government guidelines but she went about it in the wrong way. Other staff members were apologising for her behaviour. In addition to this she was not wearing a mask so not only did she put everyone's health at risk whilst yelling in our faces, she also left everyone upset and angry. I left in tears and since this experience I won't be visiting this pub anymore and I definitely wouldn't recommend this pub to anyone. Take my advice, go to another pub or go for a drink in the park. You'll have a much more enjoyable experience.

Hello Sarah hope you 're well ,I'm sorry to hear that you feel that I was being rude on your visit , there was no yelling or finger pointing on my behalf ,as you know we're working under very difficult circumstances to make sure that my team and all our customers are safe whilst the Covid 19 pandemic is ongoing , so as you turned up an hour late having booked a table of 8 and there was actually 15 of you which is against the government guidelines I was very firm as it's my responsibility to make sure that I run my business safely and adhere to the rules . also as far as wearing a mask we have dotted stand here signs on the door and floor which allows people to stand within two meters distance from me at all times and I politely asked you to stand back from my host station as you were perching over my laptop ,wearing a mask is a personal choice in our pub not a mandatory one as long as we respect social distancing . I also don't remember you leaving and crying as I saw you as you were leaving at the end of the night and once again had to remind you to use the signed posted exit rather than the front door, and you seemed to have had a nice time in our pub . so if the reason that you felt writing this review is because I was following the government guidelines under such a difficult situation to be able to provide a safe environment for my team and customers then I make no apology as we all have to help each other out and respect the rules to be able to get to some kind of new normal , Many Thanks Francesca

Nice pub and staff but dreadfully overpriced and TOTALLY AWFUL FOOD. The evening started with the staff member telling us about the dishes that were not available on the menu - after we had spent 20 minutes going through the menu options. Both myself and a friend had the Chicken with Risotto. The Chicken was very small and the Risotto was stodgy, both of us left the Risotto, so it was pretty much pointless ordering this dish as the chicken was quite small and certainly not going to keep us from being hungry - I don't think they have learned anything considering a previous review made (see below) in Oct 2024, a similar comment about this very same dish - my partner had the baked sweet potato - again another food disaster. We were with friends and did not want to spoil the evening by complaining but had I not been with these friends I would have cancelled immediately the food and walked out - it was that bad. I've felt ripped off today due to the cost - which is why I have for the first time in my life - come on this review platform to warn others'.

Hello Ian hope you 're well ,sorry to hear you didn't have a good night in our lovely pub . Apologies with the missing items on our menu but deliveries are affected during the festive season ,so we were not able to have all the dishes on our menu ,hence why your server made you aware prior to ordering . If the food wasnt' to your liking ,had you mentioned it when your server checked back and asked if everything was ok with your food ,we would have been more than happy to replace it with another dish that was available on our menu . Unfortunately as you mentioned that you didn't say anything we were not able to rectify it which is a shame as we always make sure that we do our upmost for our customers to leave happy ! Hopefully you will give our lovely pub another chance , Happy New Year from all of us , Francesca

Two members of staff were so incredibly rude that my friends and I will not be returning to this pub. Appalling behaviour, one male staff member raised his voice and rolled his eyes at me for gently requesting that a side salad be replaced as it was clearly rotten. Another male staff member shouted in my sisters face. Disgraceful behaviour. A pity as the other staff were so polite and accommodating. Bad apples ruining the whole event.
