Unwelcoming! Turned up hoping to grab a few drinks with some friends. Only one man visible on the floor, i appreciate you may of been busy as the place looked fairly full but when asking for a table he asked if we had a reservation....We didn’t, he shouted back ‘ I have no tables, waving his arms ‘ and slowly backed away. We would of been happy to wait, but his actions instantly put us off. There’s no need to be so rude. Didn’t offer for us to wait or how many within our party. The outside seating was empty. Unsure if that area was in use or not at that time. Approx 3pm.More

Hi there, I am very sad to read your review. With a lot of the recent changes to the way we have to run our venues it has been a tough time, especially for customers as it's all a bit strange at the minute. I...More

This was a nice local, staffed by great peopl, until about a year ago. Then they reopened a few months back with a makeover that didn't look as good as it was before. It had a giant bar all along one side of a long...pub, and that was great. This was taken out, and a tiny square bar installed at the front. The bartenders didn't have room to move. Then a really controlling landlord took over, a jerk. Covid turned him into a dictator. Going in you're screeched at about face masks and table service, before you've had a chance to say hello. The atmosphere is horrendous. Oh, and I've eaten there. Never again. Fuller's need to change the manager, pronto. And restore the original bar. But for now, don't go near the place.More

First time I’ve been to this place we came for a quiet drink after a Kung fu lesson not to far away. Friend recommended this place, it’s a beautiful pub, the staff are amazing and friendly working in a pub myself i don’t usually go...out to a pub but the best experience. Meg and pelumi instantly welcomed us, smiles and conversation, we had two half pints cider and peroni and was very impressed with the sticky toffee pudding they gave us on the house. I will definitely frequent after Kung fu as it’s very nice atmosphere and relaxed and great staff. So thank you ladies I’ll see you next Tuesday if you’re workingMore

Popped in with a friend for a quick drink, late Tuesday evening. The refurbishment is lovely, finished to a high standard. The staff (Pelumi & Meg) were great, very welcoming, friendly and attentive. Thank you both for being so helpful. I recommend the sticky toffee...pudding which was delicious!More

Well, half of the menu was not available. Ended up ordering spicy cauliflower and chickpea. It was warm. Sent it back. Re appeared hotter but overcooked. Can a chef not cook? For god sake 11£ for a few chick peas and a quarter of a...cauliflower. No skill. I thought the revamp was intended to take the place up market. It seems to have achieved the opposite. Three strikes and you are outMore

I really likes the Mason's Arms - the food was great! We came as a group of 12 people plus baby and they were great. I had the squid & chorizo for starters and the lamb shoulder sheppards pie for main; both of these were...superb. The pub also has a lovely atmosphere and is dog friendly. Highly recommend.More

We were served very quickly, lovely service. A pity about the person in charge, he could've been the manager. He looked slightly wired and out of control. He wasn't very polite to the staff. And not too approachable towards us. It didn't upset our visit...however, I felt like his behaviour should be addressed.More

I came here to meet a friend of mine. Tom the manager made a fantastic effort to take me through all the craft beers on offer. Apparently they have recently had a refurbishment and now they are focusing on good craft beers. Tom was very...approachable and knowledgeable. The whole team clearly care about customer service. Great selection of beers catering for all tastes. I wouldn’t hesitate coming back here again. I felt very looked after.More

We used to enjoy weekday lunches here: great food, good selection of drinks and friendly staff. Visited today for the first time since July and couldn’t believe the drop in standards for both food and service. The menu looks similar but the food is nowhere...near as good. There was a mistake with our order - a straightforward fish and chips and a burger - and the fish was soggy and the burger, when it eventually arrived, was very average. The fact the place was almost empty in the week before Christmas shows we’re not the only ones to be disappointed. A great shame. Judging from other reviews, our experience wasn’t unique.More

The Masons Arms is currently closed for refurbishment. I believe Fullers are going to take it and the menu more upmarket.
