Nice and near to Liverpool Street station. Lovely food with good service and the atmosphere is buzzing as it gets quite busy in the evening would definitely go again.

I celebrated my birthday with my wife and friends, 10 of us in a private room upstairs. The room was plain but cosy with an open fire and a period feel. Service was excellent and the food was great. We had the set menu and all my guests (including two retired teachers of cooking to Sixth formers) commented how good... More

Incredibly quiet on a Saturday night. Delicious traditional desserts and coffee enjoyed by our group.

This place is an "up-market" place to go for breakfast, warm and welcoming when we went (November) and not too busy. The waiting staff seemed half asleep when we were there which was a shame; we were seated ok (booked in advance which is recommended - see below) and ordered but then had to wait forever for the dreamy waiter... I cannot say I visit regularly but occassionally. This time for Burn's night. What a disappointment. I had booked the table for the Burn's Night. Alas on arrival something had got lost in the translation between the eastern european and antipodean on duty at the time of booking. Neither of whom had a clue what joy january 25th might hold.... The problem with out visit was that the restaurant is ran by a couple of people who have no appreciation of what running a restaurant means. We arrived at 12, nobody to greet us and make us seat. The menu were not given, the service was extremely slow. The food was alright but as many others said, way overpriced for... More

Ate here on a Saturday night having booked. Very pleasant welcome and we were shown to an atmospheric booth and given our menus. I had seen the menu on-line so knew what to expect which as a veggie was one choice of starter and one choice of main. Both sounded nice in advance so I wasn't disappointed. We also got... More

Me and my friends had a lovely hungover brunch here. I would recommend it to anyone wanting a hearty breakfast at a reasonable price! Only negative was that there weren't any beans with the full English. Very authentic place! :)

Nice pub/restaurant vibe but food really needs to be a lot better for the cost - £100 for 2 with house wine. We had 2 fish starters - whitebait and squid. Squid was unexpectedly deep fried so they ended up pretty much the same. Mushroom wellington more expensive than all the meat dishes and tiny. Liver and bacon was good... More

Staying in Spitalfields

Neighborhood Profile
Spitalfields
For a glimpse of Georgian and Victorian London at its most pristine, or a peek into what's apt to be the next big global trend, the hipster zone of Spitalfields can provide hours of amazement. Around the clock, this is a haven for early morning bargain hunters sizing up its street markets, foodie foragers throughout the day, or late night revelers hitting some of London's most popular bars and clubs.

Wedged between the business-minded City of London, expressly trendy Shoreditch, and zestful Whitechapel, the lines between traditional and contemporary beautifully blur in this historic East End nexus.
