We were staying overnight in Bayswater, London and found the Kalamaras based on its recommendation on Trip Adviser. Great Greek food in the Greek way - wholesome, flavoursome and very welcoming. They open at 5.00pm which suited us as we were going into town to the theatre. My wife had a starter a filo spinach and feta parcels and I... More

As a lone diner I was welcomed into the restaurant despite all the tables being reserved. The food there is really good. Washed down with half a caraffe of retsina wine and a couple of ouzo's. The staff were attentive and the Greek singer and musician were very talented. A really great night. I can thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

I come to London regularly and I always feel that I have to visit this restaurant. They are always so welcoming and accommodating. It's tucked away down a quiet mews and the atmosphere is always superb. The exterior belies being in the centre of London....beautiful display of plants really enhance the approach. The food is quite simply excellent. The restaurant... More

We visited this restaurant having been handed a flyer from a girl on the street. We were heading somewhere else that evening but went back the next night. Reading the dishes available reminded us how much we loved Greek food but hadn't had it for a while. We weren't disappointed the flavours were amazing in particular the barbecue pork ..... More

Tucked away in a little street of the City of Westminster (that's one of the main borough of London) lies this little greek taverna where the salads are fresh, the lamb in tender and the choices to satisfy every taste within the greek cuisine. Prices on the average side for London, but by far is the service what impressed me... More

A young lady offered me a menu right outside Bayswater and I realised I had not had Greek food forever so planned on going that very evening. I was not disappointed it was lovely. Nice host, beautiful food, beautiful wine. Totally faultless. Thoroughly enjoyed it and will return soon.

We turned up at the restaurant with large suitcases as we were on our way to catch a train to Scotland. We had not heard of the restaurant before but our favorite Greek restaurant was closed. The staff at Kalamaras were delightful in helping us with our luggage and being speedy with the food because they knew we had a... More

The new manager is very attentive and a gracious host. The signature lamb dish is to die for. All the food is well prepared, well presented, and well served. Highly recommend, though a bit hesitatingly because I want to be sure I get a table next time I go!

Excellent restaurant with great choice of food that was very good, the house red wine was very good too. The service was excellent but once again let down by my pet hate of a service and cover charge being added to the bill. It is for the customer to decide how much to tip not you the restaurant. I would... More

Description
Founded in 1966 and hidden in a quiet mews off Queensway, we offer fantastic authentic Greek food with a warm welcome and friendly service. Over the years we have had many famous people regularly dine here including the Beatles, Peter Sellers and his friends, racing drivers Graham and Damon Hill, also many actors and actresses, such as Telly Savalas (Kojak), Faye Dunaway, Irene Pappas, Mick Jagger and many other well-known names of the 60’s, 70’s and the present day. But it is not just the stars; many people have always loved dining here: members of the local, international and Greek Bayswater communities, as well as students and tourists who visit London. They all like the friendly and informal atmosphere and the healthy Greek food. We invite you to join us and carry on the glorious tradition of Kalamaras.
