My husband and I wandered into the Good Earth after shopping and was pleasantly surprised by this fantastic little find. The menu offers elevated Chinese dishes and family-style dining and feels like a happy medium between Chinese take-out and fine dining. The chicken and chive dumplings were cooked perfectly being both pan fried and steamed and had a delicious dipping... More

Our family have been regulars at The Good Earth over many years and have never been disappointed. There is no question this is our favourite restaurant of all time. As vegetarians, the taste, quality and texture of all "chicken" soya dishes is to die for. The service and atmosphere is always warm and friendly.

Like the ravens at the Tower of London, if the Good Earth ever left Mill Hill it would summon the end of civilisation as we know it. This Chinese restaurant has been there since the Ming Dynasty, or so it seems. It is is always rammed full. I don't mean busy, I mean 100% capacity. They seem to have shoe-horned... More

This restaurant was really busy on a Saturday evening. The service was efficient and attentive. We ordered the set menu for 4 people. The quality of food was plentiful. The dish where the beef was cooked at the table in a sizzling mini-wok was particularly delicious. My favourite was the Peking duck. Given how busy the restaurant was, it was... More

Average food extremely over priced and the service was poor as they rushed us to eat. I felt uncomfortable as they wanted to bring our second course before we had finished our first. Compared to ither similar Chinese eateries the portions are small.

Nice restaurant, fast service, presumably everything is partly, pre prepared. Menu is virtually identical to the majority of suburban Chinese restaurants. Boring. It is the most expensive and maybe the nicest looking place in the area, so it draws the better off clientele.

Went to The Good Earth to celebrate my son's birthday. Excellent food and very good service. One of us uses a wheelchair and the manager and staff could not have been more welcoming and helpful. There are a couple of small steps to get down but this was not a problem with willing help from the manager. The soft-shelled crab... More

The quality of the food is excellent however the size of the portions seems to be smaller than I remember .The prawns however were great both in size and quality.

Very unusual in some ways on how the dishes are presented compared to your normal. All food was piping hot and of a very high standard. All waiting staff were polite and freindly.

Description
Traditional Chinese restaurant situated in Knightsbridge popular with locals as well as business types and the shopped out from Harrods. The decor is all oriental splendour and the atmosphere relaxed and friendly. What's cooking? Traditional Chinese fare. Signature dishes include crispy fragrant duck, steamed seabass and mixed seafood platter. Plenty of vegetarian choices with faux chicken and prawn dishes and a monk's casserole - a mixture of preserved and fresh vegetables cooked in a clay pot.
