Step off Greek Street and into Thailand! The restaurant captures the essence of the country in its decor and service, which is excellent. The food is generally good but unremarkable and rather expensive for what it is. Stand out dishes were the duck with chilli and basil, which was beautifully tender and deliciously flavoured, and the mango and sticky rice,... More

I have had Thai food in at least 10 countries outside of Thailand, and a meal here was the best Thai food I have had outside Thailand. The balance of flavours and spices is absolutely perfect. The meat and fish are cooked to perfection. The presentation of food is also fabulous. The platter for 2, with 4 items and 4... More

Visited this place with my wife after a day of walking the London streets. It is a hidden gem - the decor is simple yet very classy, with an interesting wooden structure decorating the center of the room. The food (pad thai and coconut braised feed) were excellent, but we were mostly impressed with the extremely courteous service.

We had a reservation for 7.15pm was greeted by a terrible receptionist who I am guessing was having a bad day. There was no Hello and any type of greeting. I am guessing she was in the wrong job and should look for alternative work. I then complained to Mr Pik the restaurant manager who took over and provided great... More

This restaurant is outstanding, the food is more than excellent. Great portions, quality and outstanding flavours. The wine list has a few great wines one being Chablis. We have taken a few friends with us on a few occasions and they can't believe the quality and freshness.

Very authentic Thai food. Great service. Great ambience too. Wish they improve the selection of alcohol a bit more. Serving Thai beer like any other Thai place. These guys are different so serve other beers also!

Description
One of a family of worldwide restaurants, London's Patara restaurant brings sophisticated Thai dining to Soho's Greek Street. Tastefully decorated with plenty of atmosphere thanks to subdued lighting, huge pots of orchids, flickering candles, silk-covered banquettes and Thai figurines inlaid with glass mosaic tiles, it's ideal for a romantic dinner for two. The Patara kitchen is ambitious, producing excellent creations of classic Thai cuisine like tom yum goong soup; beef with green curry and;, of course, pad Thai noodles. The service is renowned for its excellence and the wine list begins at a reasonably-priced level. Someone in the kitchen has an eye for beauty, too, because at Patara restaurant each dish is exquisitely arranged to delight your eye as well as your palate. Patara Thai restaurant is a haven from Soho's scruffiness; a glamorous, romantic, authentic, professional spot for an excellent dining experience.

Staying in Soho

Neighborhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
