4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Popped in for a drink with family one evening and ended up staying for dinner. Well appointed restaurant located under the railway arches leading to Charing Cross station. Meal accompanied by the intermittent rumble of trains passing overhead but didn't detract from an excellent meal - burgers all round. Staff very friendly and organised - recommended.

Just by Waterloo station under the arches, live music (jazz), good service. Definitely for meat eaters though (hardly any vegetarian dishes).

Good - another situation (TA take note please ) where there should be a rating between Average and Very Good. Bit of a mix up on the booking but the manager rectified it pretty swiftly - wasn't blown away by the food but it was perfectly acceptable and pretty tasty !

Having recently moved to London from Manchester this was my first visit with a client on Saturday night. For both of us we spent £150 on 2 streaks, few drinks, few ports to be rudely asked by the barstaff to leave as they were closing. It seemed like they just wanted to go home. We didn't even have time to... More

My wife loves this place and often meets friends here. It's handy for the south bank, the staff are very pleasant, there's live jazz in the background, but the place didn't sing to me. My burger was OK, assembled without much love and the house salad (£5) was a miserable effort of iceberg salad, a few walnuts and a microscopic... More

We very in London this week at the theatre for a matinee performance and needed a place to eat and drink at the end of the day but not too crowded. One of our party of 6 had eaten here before plus with cocktails for £5 between 5 & 7 it was too good to miss Quite a large restaurant... More

Really nice meat Jazz live music giving a real added value. Cheesecake and wine card are perfect. The cheese plate is very generous. I don't know if the chief is French but the menu was looking some signs... Very nice meal at a correct price

Booked a 5pm table on a Saturday before taking the Jubilee Line to the O2 Arena. Perfect location right next to Waterloo and Southbank. Service and food was very good. A bit pricey but nothing too expensive unless your wife picks a glass of port for £9 ha but it was her birthday treat. Will return when in town and... More

Prior to visiting the Southbank for a concert I visited for a meal. Te hhead waiter almost chocked when I asked for a table for one. I ordered a fillet steak and waited about thirty seconds before it was served! The steak was not correctly cooked - - it was cold and medium not blue as ordered. It was obviously... More

Staying in Southbank

Neighborhood Profile
Southbank
Big time attractions such as the London Eye and a thriving theatre scene (compliments of the National Theatre and the Young Vic) are but a few of the reasons that Southbank is such a collectively cherished part of town. With plenty of family friendly activities and venues lined up along a pedestrianized river bank between Westminster Bridge and Waterloo Bridge, visitors can always expect a casual and festive atmosphere. On top of all the fun stuff to do at Southbank is the opportunity to simply sit back and admire photo-op views of iconic landmarks like Parliament and St Paul's Cathedral, just on across the Thames.
