We booked festive afternoon tea to celbrate my frinds birthday which the hotel knew about it as well. Nothing special was done! :( free flowing prosecco was very good but we didnt get much other service or attention! Staff was just kicking kitchen door every 2 minutes! Not very good atmosphere for relaxing afternoon tea! We have experienced about 10-15... More

Dear Patron, I recognise that your time with us was a special time and understandably and rightly so, you were looking forward to it. I appreciate from your feedback that this was not the case and we failed to provide service commensurate with Marriott standards. We aim to have our guests enjoy their company and not interrupt them, I was... More

We came here in December for our works Christmas party and came away very pleased. We were greeted with a glass of bubbles and then taken to our table for afternoon tea. All the waiters were very helpful and made sure that I got my gluten free choice which was superb. Would definitely recommend

We had afternoon tea at Lanes on a busy Saturday afternoon in December. Arriving an hour before our booking, they accommodated us perfectly and showed us quickly to a nice table for two. We decided to "up sell" ourselves and chose the afternoon tea with free flowing prosecco. This adds £10 to the price but with a glass of fizz... More

Unless you have hours of time to spend whilst waiting for slow and incompetent waiters to ignore you, do not bother. We had afternoon tea and breakfast here- we were largely ignored. No chance of getting extra water, not offered more tea, even when you put an order in and waited 25 minutes to get something- spent a few minutes... More

Was taken here for a birthday afternoon tea by my wife. It's called the tea experience. . So they tell you a bit about the various teas (about 18 or so). But in reality we were there for the food and free flow proseco. Any such afternoon tea is never going to come up large, but despite the small cut sandwiches,... More

The tea selection is average, but the service is excellent. We opted the free flow prosecco and they made sure the glasses are always full. Our waiter also made sure he explain the tea selection for us and very patient considering we were very chatty amongst ourselves (sorry about tht!). Kudos for the excellent service again! Would return for sure

We where there for afternoon tea and the experience was way to expensive for what we got. The waiter kind of forgot is in the corner, the scones where cold and the cakes boring and not very tasteful.

Pros: ~ My waitress (Johanna) was brilliant - friendly, informative and helpful. Bought travelzoo voucher for four for under €100. They were very accommodating when I had to add an extra person. Good selection of food quite appropriate for a good standard afternoon tea. Tea selection excellent and staff excellent. Only drawback was bill for one extra was £64. Although this seemed very expensive for one person I was in company so... More

Staying in Mayfair

Neighborhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
