Cozy pub, lots of history, friendly & efficient staff .... but £16 for average fish and only 6 chips?! Please! (To their credit, after trying to explain that the chips were slightly bigger than normal, the staff wasted no time in bringing 6 more :-))

Hugely disappointing meal here earlier. Fabulous trad London pub setting but a rather limited menu: roasts were either lamb or beef. We chose one of each. Food arrived on cold plates - huge portions but utterly cold - and I mean cold. Not luke warm,...More

We had a nice relaxing beer day at "Fox & Anchor ". Lovely staff always helpful and nice food. What you want more on a sunny day -just to chill with friends and drink your beer. Soon again :)

A great breakfast in an atmospheric pub behind Smithfield Market. The food was excellent and good value. Well worth a stop on a walking tour of Clerkenwell.

Great beers and reasonable food in Farringdon. Very busy at lunchtimes. Friendly service. A wonderful interior where you can have breakfast , lunch and dinner.

Whilst the service at the bar was adequate for a central London pub, check your change, it may not be quite what you you thought. The barman quoted one price but gave change equating to a different price. No redress from management. Not a good...More

The food here is very good. Highly advise you try the Scotch eggs, perfectly cooked. Went here to meet some friends for dinner, had a private booth booked. (Recommend booking). The bar and other tables were very busy for a mid week night. It is...More

Owing to its proximity to Smithfield Market – the site
of an ancient meat market which remains in operation
today – Clerkenwell boasts a plethora of globally
renowned restaurants, fabulous local eateries, and
some of London's favorite pubs. This isn't merely a
focal point for all things foodie though. Spend enough
time wondering through the area's maze of streets and
you might become accustomed to the litany of slinky

Questions & AnswersAsk a question
Do they add a service charge for pub food & drinks? It's mentioned in a review but I find this unusual for a pub. Thanks in advance.
