I booked in advance to eat in the evening and paid a deposit. When we arrived were told very flippantly that the kitchen was shut and no food was available. The restaurant had all my details and could have rung to say this had happened....They lied and said they had tried, forgetting that there is a call history on my phone. We were offered a free drink but declined as we were hungry and wanted to eat. We returned later but nobody was on the desk then, so we had to hunt to find a member of ‘the team’ who was able to authorise a drink. I’ve been here many times with family and friends for lunch but this was really rubbish service.More

So it’s 27th November freezing cold with storm Arwen going on outside !! Alma De Cuba decide it’s fine to open to the public even though they have NO boilers working so NO central heating and NO hot water !!! NO Curtesy phone call ahead...of arriving to say hey customers it’s your choice but tonight you will be sitting in your coats whilst eating your dinner !! Discussing plus DO you not know we still have a serious pandemic on so you are freezing cold already go the loo and who wants to wash their hands with freezing cold water ? Absolutely disgusting filthy place red carpets are practically black , tables dirty !! Such a shame the place use to be fantastic it’s now the pitsMore

Recently visited and loved the cocktails but the food was ridiculously average. Lamb starter was bland and steak was tasteless. Very disappointed and wouldn’t necessarily rush back any time soon.

Came here about 3:years ago and had such a fantastic time so was top of our list when we visited Liverpool again…. however not the case this time. 15 crammed on a long table, slow drink service, rushed lukewarm bland food service, cleared our own...table, only 2 bottles of Sauvignon Blanc wine were available at 7pm, charged for drinks not had, large service charge… music was quite loud but can live with that .More

Visited as part of a large group. We were placed on the top floor. The building is really lovely, the lights give it a really magical feet too. We got drinks from the bar downstairs upon entry. Upstairs it’s table service only, which ordinarily is...fine but they said that bills could not be split which makes it awkward, especially if staying the whole night, as you have to keep count yourself of what you’ve had. The food was ok, first 2 course better than the pudding. The entertainment was good, the dancers are beautiful, talented women. Being in the top floor we were too far up really to get the full effect a d due to this the atmosphere was also a bit lacking. It was an ok night, we had fun but more because of the company, not the venue.More

Fab, fun, lively place for a few drinks. Visited early on a Friday night as it was starting to liven up. Stayed for a couple of reasonably priced cocktails.

Make no mistake this is a stunning setting. Staff lovely. But for apremier eating place the food did not mathc our expectations. It was really disappointing to find that there was only 2 veggie/ vegan options. I asked the waiter if there were other alternatives...to either the roasted veg or the spinach curry. Nope! I really would expect a venue as hip and as modern as Almas de Cuba to have more options for me. The food arrived within minute suggesting that on a Saturday night they are really only interested in the hen nights / big groups. Also the music was far too load.More

I would book!! We went Sunday (bank holiday weekend) but they took £20 deposit per person, also none refundable so if someone doesn’t drink the £20 worth you loose money. Drinks are pricey so I guess you will. Keep tabs on... More
