Had a nice evening in Liverpool on the way to a match and visited the restaurant due to the reviews. It was good-service nice and decent food if lacking a little in terms of atmosphere. Staff friendly and average prices.

Warm inviting welcome, in what was a busy restaurant, We took the set menu with an added extra of lamb with lentils which is a speciality of the restaurant. Food came steadily and never felt rushed, however I felt some of it had been pre prepared and gone somewhat dry! especially the ribs and the duck. Interior was somewhat dated,... More

Probably the oldest Chinese restaurant in Liverpool, authentic Chinese food in ambient traditional surroundings very close to China town in Liverpool . Welcoming very efficient polite staff very attentive had the banquet for two £20 each plus the signature dish Lamb and leeks which was amazing. Has to be the best Chinese in Liverpool. Wonderful that the owner Terry took... More

I last visited the Yuet Ben in 1981 when at the University for a sailing club annual diner. Had a nostalgic trip back to Liverpool just before Christmas and returned here with my wife. The lady who served us, and I think now owns/runs the place with her husband, worked here in 1981 when owned by her father. Lovely photograph... More

Visited Yuet Ben with my family for a 60th birthday meal. The chap who served us was friendly, attentive (without being overbearing) and funny. Service was speedy, the food was top notch and very tasty and the portions extremely generous. I would heartily recommend Yuet Ben to anybody and sitting there in the early evening with a great view of... More

Pretty much in line with many of the China Town restaurants - fine. Tastes all a bit tired and uninspired. But relatively well flavoured and prepared nonetheless. There's better Chinese restaurants nearby (and there's worse too!).

Went for Chinese New Year because of the good reviews, but we were disappointed. The service was poor and slow because they were busy prioritizing their tables of friends and the food was overpriced for dishes that tasted like they could be found in a standard take-away. Will not be coming back again.

After reading the reviews we chose this restaurant for the Chinese New Year. Whilst the food was excellent we were very disappointed by this restaurant. We arrived for our booking to find that they were not ready for us. We had chosen the specific time as we had young children and we were keen to see the light show across... More

I wanted to take my family out for a Chinese meal as part of the Chinese New Year celebrations and chose this place based on other reviews. Granted, it would have been busier than usual when we went but I can't see how the food would be that much different at a quieter time. The food is pretty much the... More

The Yuet ben was once a really good restuarant with excellent food at reasonable prices. Sadly this is no longer the case. Much of the food is pre-prepared and anything but fresh by the time it gets to the table. The famous peking ribs are dry, overcooked and have hardly any meat on them. They are covered in a bottled...
