The restaurant is well presented. We had a drink in the bar first and were invited to our table. Initial service and bar service very good. The menu is limited on starters and deserts, the latter having a choice of about 5. The starter of chorizo was slightly larger than required and lacked spice. The main course choice would have... Acid Annie says: Hi Chrissiemc76 - sorry about the coven of staff behind the bar. We are an equal opportunities employer and the witches need to practice their coven skills regularly. We are short of a supervisor at the moment and this will keep the witches serving customers which is clearly where they belong. You are right that we have... More

Arrived in Liverpool for a weekend stay, went to pick up the key for our apartment and stumbled upon Monro's, so glad we did! Beautiful day so we sat outside, all five of us ordered the same thing, the fillet steak sandwich with blue cheese, proper chips and salad - absolutely fab! Chips were perfect, steak - medium rare -... More

This place was recommended by a friend, it's a little off the beaten track but still only a two minute walk from Bold street! the staff are brilliant, very helpful and all had a smile on their faces. One of our party said his soup starter was a little bland but apart from that all the rest of our meals... More

Was taken to here with friends while visiting Liverpool .. this gem of a find restored my belief that you can find good food in Liverpool. Very pleasant Gastro Pub and fully deserved of the accolades it has won. Great atmosphere and music which was not too loud .. good crowd of people in bar or restaurant areas. Very attentive... More

We had a wonderful lunch at Monro's, food was excellent, staff attentive and friendly with reasonable prices. Setting catered for all ages with a good mix of people there when we visited. Nice relaxed atmosphere, we didn't feel under pressure to act our table at any stage and the overall impression was of an establishment that is well organised and... More

Monro was recommended by an acquaintance and being a tourist in Liverpool on my first night, it has set a very high standard. I had lemon and thyme chicken, fondant potato and a cabbage accompaniment - it was completely excellent. I couldn't fault a single thing on the plate. My friend had an equally enjoyable vegetarian tagliatelle. The cheese cake... More

The. Monroe has a reputation for its food and it's well deserved,it's cooked to order and so it takes time, but there comes a point when your wait becomes a little bit too long.We had finished one lot of drinks and we're still waiting and trying to order more drinks, there were only two staff one behind the bar and one waitress... One of the established gastropub in central Liverpool. We went for a birthday meal on a Sunday. Surrounding is modern and chic. Good blend of new and old. Under £20 for a 3 course meal. I had crab for starter. Others had Prawn with Asian salad. Mine wasn't seasoned enough and tasted a bit bland. I tasted the prawn too... More
