Great food and great night... enjoyed the sharing platter with the Mrs and it was fantastic. The bar was not so busy but it was midweek and raining so it was no big deal. Well worth a visit in general so get down there.

Recently visited the pioneer for my husbands birthday. From start to finish we were made to feel very welcome and were looked after by a lovely friendly Australian lady. The food, drinks, cocktails and atmosphere was lovely and of very high standard. The menu is...More

Two different menus, one only 9.50 for two courses! We had the dearer one, not that dear considering the quality and it was superb. Would go again to try the other menu.

Not eaten here but the bar has extensive range of drinks, staff are friendly and the atmosphere is good. Lighting is a bit bright but overall this is a good bar.

We popped in for a quick evening meal. I had 2 starters which was adequate size for a meal. My husband had a burger which he said was nice (but didn't rave over it), it looked nice and juicy but nothing special. My son had...More

We normally eat in the local pub restaurants, but this place puts them all in the shade, our three course meal was excellent ,all freshly cooked, the soup was excellent. Our roast beef was cooked to perfection, and the cheesecake looked and tasted like something...More

Lunch with family and the food was lovely, soups are gorgeous. Service is good and well priced. Also attended a wedding here in the function room upstairs, room could probably hold around 50 comfortably and the food was lovely.

Pleasantly surprised by the very good service and nicely presented food. The waiting staff were very friendly and attentive, and aimed to please. The only negative point about the restaurant was the volume of the music, which was far too loud for a decent conversation.

Well...I've just checked on the satnav and it says it would take 1 day and 5 hours to walk to the pioneer bar from crake valley. So it may be worth considering something a little closer. Although if you've got sturdy... More
