we were told about the fantastic food at Sahara so we went to try it out. Unfortunately it has gone yet the listings persist. Please remove from the reviews here.

Sahara Lebanese Restaurant in Arrad Street has been a Liverpool gem for a decade. Over the years it's served its delicious and freshly-prepared food to locals, students, academics from the nearby universities, visitors to the city, thesps from the next-door Everyman theatre, and a whole bunch of other people from all over the world, and it earned a solid reputation... Late Sunday afternoon isn't the best time to go looking for a good meal in Liverpool, so, being in the area we decided upon the Sahara. Having read some mixed reviews we set the expectation bar quite low, but unfortunately this restaurant failed misserably to hit it. Starters were just ok, nothing special. The hummus was tasteless - I can't... More

I have eaten at this restaurant many times. The service is always faultless and the food delicious. I particularly enjoy the mezzes - lots of small plates to share. As you can bring your own wine this makes for is a very reasonably priced evening. In comparison to other newer more trendy Syrian style restaurants recently opened in Liverpool, for... More

Having been to Lebanon and tried the delicious authentic Lebanese food, I have high expectations of Lebanese restaurants now. I can honestly say that this restaurant has successfully lived up to my expectations. We had fattoush, humous, and mixed BBQ meats with soft drinks. It was delicious! I have been to lots of Lebanese restaurants in the UK and this... More

First time I went to Sahara was with my boyfriend. I am mexican and had never tried lebanese food before. I didn´t know what to expect to be honest but my boyfriend ordered his favorite food so I tried it and was awesome. We went there about 5 times in the 6 weeks I stayed in the Wirral with my... More

We came across this little Lebanses restaurant whilst looking for somewhere to have a quick bite before going to see a play in the Everyman. We were suprised that this restaurant didn't sell alcoholic drinks. There is no corkage charge, you just need to spend over £13. There was nowhere near to buy alcohol but we stayed to sample the... We had really been looking forward to visiting this restaurant after reading a number of views only on TripAdvisor but also on the Liverpool confidential website. Unfortunately we were left feeling really disappointed. We were looking forward to a warm welcome from staff at this family run restaurant. One member of waiting staff was fairly welcoming however his colleague seemed... More

Stopped off after work for a meal. The restaurant is not licensed so we brought a bottle of wine. The starters were served quickly - particularly good were the braised chicken livers - really delicious. Also had standard humus and tabbouleh. The mains were mixed kebab which were excellence and tasty. I left feeling full and having received value for... More
