Popped in in between meetings after 2pm. Grabbed the last bowl of red pepper soup which was served with super fresh granary break. Ser ing chap couldn't have been more helpful. Loved the ambiance of young and not so young struggling artists discussing the issues of the day. (makes a changed from football) great stopover for lunch and looks like... More

Great little cafe within the bluecoat building serving some really unusual dishes. Houmous with warm pitta bread and the bean salad highly recommended. Excellent value and well worth a visit. You can then wander around the attached art gallery

The dirty menu was only the start. Indifferent soup - chosen from an indifferent menu - was a blend of potato and mint. It could not decide whether it was sweet or savoury. Staff were pleasant but bewildered. I suspect no-one understood the term 'customer service'. And the loos were filthy, badly equipped and a general disgrace. Does the Bluecoat... More

We go there for a quick and quiet lunch as it is located centrally and perfect for a shopping coffee break too. The food and drinks on offer are good and at a decent price too. I love their soup. The staff are nice and usualy the service is quick. The only drawback is the constant opening and closing of... More

I hadn't been here for years so was really looking forward to my visit. There are little shops in the courtyard on your way to the main entrance which are worth a visit. Inside it's a little modern with a quirky twist. It reminds me of The Tate Art Gallery. It has a coffee shop through the main doors and... More

The bistro is restful and has a modest but tasty menu that is reasonably priced. On the day we visited the kitchen took longer than reasonable to deliver two plates of things on toast but, when they finally arrived, they were OK. If the service had been quicker, my rating would have been higher.

I ordered the beer battered cod and chips. the first effort was overcooked and very greasy, i tried a bit but it was unpleasant. The staff did take it away, the replacement was better if a little underdone. The chips are handcut, which is good, they were different sizes and varied from not quite cooked to overdone. The mushy peas... More

I often pop into the Bluecoat to either meet friends or for a quiet sit down and coffee. Its especially delightful on a sunny afternoon when you can just sit in their gardens and relax and remove yourself from the hustle, bustle and hullabaloo of the delights of bustling Liverpool One. Its so nice and quiet in the gardens and... More
