We have been here a few times now and I must say it started out great under new management, but as the months are going on the food has gone down hill, Our latest food the starters were cold and mains average. It was like a lot of the food was microwaved. For the prices on the menu you expect... read more

My friend and I visited the Dovecote on subsequent nights and received a warm welcome on both occasions. The food was well presented and tasty and a reasonable price. Very pleased to see that a children's menu has been introduced as we have been there in the past and families have walked out because of the lack of children's food.... More

As the header says....mixed feelings about this place. It has a lot of potential being a very olde worlde building but once inside it give the feeling of just being tired and in need of TLC. Definate musty smell (or could have been dogs that were running about) and very old (not antique), tired furniture and decor. Food was ok,... More

We visited the pub following new ownership. We had heard great things about the food but were very disappointed with the carvery- it was OK but nothing at all special. Service a bit slow but friendly. Drinks were pricey too.

Went for pie night. Lovely pies, freshly cooked, hot and really tasty. Very friendly welcome, and really helpful. Nice cosy atmosphere, well worth a visit, would like to try their curry night on a Friday.

My friend and I dined on two consecutive evenings. We received a warm welcome from the staff. Good choice of menu. The food was well presented, delicious and good value for money. Apart from the normal menu, there are food theme nights - Wednesdays - pizza, Thursdays - pies, Fridays - choice of curries and fish and chips and Saturdays... More

My wife and I were both late back from work and decided to go out for something to eat, my wife suggested the Dovecote which we had been too in the past but had not been for sometime and we had noticed the new owners sign from the A46 when travelling past. We walked in and generally the bar area... More

When you look from the outside it appears to be smaller than it is,once inside you realise how big it is and it is welcoming. The staff are friendly and helpful, the Sunday carvery is superb and delicious.the inside is to me very vintage in style, the only down side is there are too many tables too close together in the dining room,which...
