Always been a fan of Gino's. It's in a great location by the castle and cathedral at the top of Steep hill so plenty to look around before/after if you aren't local. Highly recommend eating here whether it being a family meal or as a couple. Best pizza in town 👍🏻

Busy Monday night but staff were attentive. Meals were lovely, starters were generously proportioned and tasty. Mains were delicious but the Chocolate pancake desert was off the charts; fortunately we chose one desert and two spoons! Not fine dining just a busy Italian, will definitely be back.

Visited this restaurant a few times and always had excellent food and service. Would have preferred to sit upstairs as we had previously, but unfortunately we we given a table right by the kitchen. This would have been ok as it is open and nice to see work in progress, if it had not been also right by the till.... More

Lunchtime and we booked a table for 6 at 1pm. We needn't have bothered, it was reasonably quiet, despite being a graduation day at the Cathedral. We ordered our mains, which arrived reasonably promptly. We all has different dishes, both pasta and risotto, and they were all ok. My seafood tagliatelle had a good amount of fish and shellfish and... More

We had an early evening booking at just after 6.00p.m. Bottom floor almost packed then! We ordered pork rib for my wife and a calzone for me. Excellent quality and thoroughly enjoyable flavours. Atmosphere very good plenty of chat and laughter. Good value, slightly on the expensive side.

I thought I'd try this restaurant for the first time after an organ recital at the cathedral. My table was booked for 8.30 but I was a little early. The first thing I noticed as I entered was that there was nobody to meet and greet me. The place was packed out and the staff were very busy. I went... More

Gino's always used to be my favourite place to visit for Italian food as it is set in beautiful surroundings and the food was delicious, but so much has changed. I visited on Sunday with my boyfriend and purchased the salmon and prawn pasta, which I used to love. When it arrived the portion size was tiny compared to what... More

Very lively atmosphere, always busy and loud. Staff seat you at the bar if your table isn't ready. Quite a wide menu but isn't subject to much change over time. Food also quite expensive.

Went for an anniversary meal as restaurant looked good and busy when we passed by. We were seated at the back in a corner and are not sure if this played a part n the subsequent lack of service. We were served drinks quite quickly and our order was taken promptly. From there the service went downhill. Took a while... More
