As a large party, we visited last week for afternoon tea with friends and family as a final meet up before people went their separate ways after a function in the cathedral. The setting of the hotel and restaurant is lovely and the location is great. The waiting staff were very helpful and attentive. The food that we had was... More

I had breakfast here as part of my stay. Staff cannot do enough for you. The food is of the highest quality. It's fresh, tasty and comes with generous portions. I highly recommend it.

We had a long wait for food and I was hungry, our food went to the folk opposite and though they didn't want it seemed to go ahead and then eat it anyway! When ours did arrive it took 3 attempts to get it right. Waitress was sorry and brought us a glass on the house which was kind but... More

I went to the tower restaurant with a few ladies, whilst visiting the ceramic poppies at the castle. We all had afternoon tea which was delicious , a good selection of sandwiches and cakes, nothing was to much trouble for the waitresses, very attentive. It was a most enjoyable experience. Would definitely go again and would recommend it too.

Our party of 4 adults ate at both the bar for lunch and the restaurant for evening dinner on Saturday 28th Aug. Both meals were delicious, even though they were totally different. Our bar meal was a quick snack and was well presented, even though they were very busy the staff remained calm, friendly and polite. We were so impressed... More

Been going to the tower for a while and the food and atmosphere have always been spot on, but lay night the chef took it to another level. The stall last night was one of the best we have ever had. Smooth, buttery and cooked to perfection. We don't usually send praise bank to the kitchen but last night was... More

Good quality produce, presented well at reasonable prices. My wife had a soufflé from the bar menu which she raved about the whole afternoon. Service was efficient and friendly without being over familiar. They were quite full in the bar area so they simply offered us a table in the restaurant. The bar menu offered a good range to suit... Thoroughly enjoyed my visit here, lovely restaurant, relaxed, food excellent . The only minor criticism is finding someone to tell us what the soup of the day was...... Good prices and piping hot delicious food
