Having eaten in Michelin starred Restaurants in the past, and too many European one's too mention I was not in the least disappointed. Okay the food did take a little time to come, but that means it's not your stereo-typical yukky fast food - it's all cooked from fresh... From the starters to the mains it was packed with flavour.... Firstly, can I say how much myself and accompanying friends were looking forward to the fine dining experience at this restaurant. The menu looked promising with many tasty dishes on offer, the taste buds were certainly excited. The atmosphere on arrival was calm, relaxed and had an air of promise to deliver on both service and food. However, here's where... More

Good Morning, I'm speechless. Please accept my sincere apologies for this - clearly, this isn't normal otherwise the entire restaurant would be leaving hungry. Let me try to understand this more clearly. Did you, at any point, flag this issue up with your serving staff, or ask to speak to the manager on shift? Perhaps you could email me directly... More

I have visited this restaurant now an additional 3 times over the last few months. The first time the food was excellent but subsequent visits have left me underwhelmed. I have been absolutely amazed at the non-plussed attitude of the waiting staff who are happy for food to stay under the lamps for a few minutes before serving . It... More

Hello ZF, Thanks so much for your comments and they're certainly being looked into at Director level with Shaf. All comments - whether glowing or constructive - are actioned so that we can do more of the good stuff that you've loved before, and less of the not-so-good stuff that you experienced this time around. I do hope that this... More

Really disappointed with our first visit to Chutney Ivy. Expected big things and although the food was ok, I've had better in a modest Indian restaurant. The waiters were attentive, but scruffily dressed. Towards the end of our meal the waiters started to rearrange furniture in a lounge area, which was noisy and distracting. The function room in the basement... More

Becky, Thanks so much for your comments and critique. Nobody likes a wet seat, so I do take your comments on board and will be sharing them with the Directors and cleaning staff alike. Please let me assure you that cleanliness is something we take incredibly seriously at Chutney Ivy. In all of our years, this is our first comment... More

We had a delightful experience here about a year ago, but as Mr Ranieri is only too aware, you're only as good as your last game! Our previous visit inspired us to suggest CI for a pre theatre meal, table of 10 friends. The obvious choice was the pre theatre set menu. Starters arrived and all was good, the £18/head... More

Stuart, Thanks so much for your comments and critique. Without sounding flippant, you have a brilliant way with words - are you a writer, by any chance? You should be. :-) I'm sorry that our usual high standards fell short on this occasion; our pre-theatre menu is hugely popular, ordinarily. I do hope we can welcome you back soon, not... More

We visited recently and were impressed by the warm and friendly atmosphere. Staff, very attentive to making your visit a nice experience which it was based on hospitality. However for us, the food lost the points. Our food was nicely presented but fell short on flavour. I am not going to go through our menu choice but as avid Asian... More

Hi Sarah, Great to hear from you and thanks so much for your comments and suggestions. You're right, in a city like Leicester, curries should be like you've tasted on your travels and I'd urge you to mention to your waiting staff that you like it in the more traditional format. Our chefs make up the dishes to order, so... More

Visited this place with friends to celebrate Valentine's night. The food and drinks were good and the ambience was good too. Really enjoyed the night and would recommend the restaurant.

This is my second visit here with a different group of friends. We booked for 5:30 to allow a steady meal before a 7:30 performance at Curve. We went for the set, pre theatre menu which is £18.95 a head for poppadoms, mixed starters and 4 curries, rice and naan. The curries were lovely, especially the butter chicken and lamb... More

Really nice food here. We bought a groupon voucher for 4 which was really good value, it had to be used mid week but that was fine we booked a table and had a set menu. The food was delicious and there was plenty to go round.
