We visited here to celebrate our granddaughters graduation and what a lovely meal and experience it was. The food was excellent and enjoyed immensely by everyone. The staff were friendly and helpful despite it being very busy. Thankfully we had the foresight to book this gem of a place. Pity that there is nothing like it in Birmingham.

We have chosen not to eat here despite good reviews. Why? The vegetarian option.. Lazy menus and lazy chefs are becoming the bane on my dining life. Really! Pasta with an arrabiata sauce!? That's the kind of food we cook when we can't be bothered to make an effort. Please show a little of your talent and imagination, then we... More

Visited here for a romantic dinner early evening and it was quiet but started to become much busier later so I would advise booking beforehand The food was as described- it's certainly worthy of high acclaim, the steak I had was perfect value for money and the presentation is wonderful. The restaurant and is quirky and intimate without being overly... More

We visited in Sep'13 (to be clear) but had an enjoyable evening with my family. We did not have a booking but were seated immediately as we turned up just before the dinner rush. The food was fantastic and our glasses were never empty. Not the cheapest of dinners in Leicester but suitable for a special occasion and has a... More

A noisy group of 16 booked this for a leavers party, a few of us had tried it before for their CBA menu which is great value, so decided to book again. So glad we did, we were well looked after by the young team of staff, we had the set "party" menu at £30, I had the ham hock... More

From the time we arrived we were looked after. Shown directly to our table and menus given. The gluten free menu followed and it provided a good selection of starters, mains and deserts. In the background a saxophone was being played. Both starter and main were wonderful. The pigeon breast followed by the best ever risotto made a great evening... More

We were a group of 8, it didn't help as the place was quite empty so no atmosphere. The starters sounded great on the menu, however I had the calamari it was large chunks and very chewy, rather than slim, not very tasty, my wife had mackerel fritarta and I think they forgot to put the mackerel in, the majority... As the name suggests this was in its day a place of shoe/boot manufacture and has been fitted out very well. Nice atmosphere once people were prepared to get with it. We seemed to be the noisiest in the place but that could have been the drink!! The chicken to start was excellent and the rack of lamb to follow... More

We tried the boot room on the recommendation of a work colleague and we were not disappointed the restaurant is stylish and smart, we were welcomed and shown to our table quickly and without fuss the service was excellent and the food was delicious. We would definitely recommend the boot room and will return ourselves.
