Called in last night with our children on our way home to north wales. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. The food was lovely and the portion sizes were very generous! Great value for money!

We had our las dinner at this pub. I would say that this is a wild pub that local people visit. It seems that we are the only travelers who visited to this pub. I had a chance to talk with old men shortly, probably they are local people. We had sandwich and Fish & Chips. They are... More

Served fresh lamb pie, which was very tasty. Had to have potatoes rather than chips, as they had no chips left, which suggests they use frozen ones. My partner also had the pie and enjoyed it. There were several real ales to choose from, my blonde ale was well kept and refreshing. We only stayed an hour or so, but... More

Stop by while waiting for our train. Its actually a nice pub which is family friendly with an awesome bar crew. Decent bites at decent prices. There is a nice view from the dining room at the back. It is a short hop away from the station. good selection of local ales and the burger the size of your head.

The food was really tasty and catering for 9 of us at peak season was no trouble even though we did it have a reservation. Well worth a visit and we will definitely be returning next April when we visit Winderemere again.

We had been staying in the B and B opposite (The Cottage: also excellent.) This was our first stop for a drink after arriving from London and we made it our last place for lunch before heading back. Warm welcome both times, lovely lunch - fully loaded sandwiches and chips- sat on the terrace in the sun. Relaxing end to... More

This pub was recommended but it was a far cry from serving edible food. The gammon and egg was overlooked and tasted as though they had been made the day before and reheated. The chicken on the chicken Caesar salad tasted as though it was long past its sell by date. This was a very disappointing and expensive meal out.

We visited here for tea as we had heard it was dog friendly. The bar staff were extremely friendly and attentive. The menu is your usual pub grub, but was great. I had gammon and egg and my partner had steak and ale pie and it was lovely. They brought a bowl of water over for our dog also. Would... More

Me and my girlfriend visited Windermere for something to eat on our way home. We were looking for a nice pub lunch, Grey walls fitted the bill very nicely. The Menu isn't much to be amazed by as it is a little plain and doesn't take your breath away. The interior is normal of your average pub style however there... More

The food was average, i had lasagna which was covered in dry herbs on the cheese topping this rather spoilt the taste of the meal my wife had the steak burger which was more than ample. But the pub needs refurbishing the walls were in need of a coat of paint, the table next to us was covered in salt... More
