Very pleasant meal in nice surroundings. Good menu and pleased with selection. Slight mix up with sauce (new waitress told us the sauce was for my husband's cheese dish but it turned out to be my fish sauce. his meal was replaced and I got new sauce but by then the dish was pretty cold. Otherwise it would have been... More

Stonneybeck Inn Restaurant was our last dinner stop in Lake District, we got recommendation to eat here from our B&B place and that was worth it. I didn’t have high expectation about the place. Some random hotel with restaurant closed to M6 motorway towards Scotland didn’t full fill me with excitement. First mistake, don’t come in a restaurant with prejudice.... More

Nicely managed place; easy parking; very good service; significantly dearer than most other pub food, but the quality and attention to detail is worth it. Simple fish n chips was done the right way; mushy peas with sprinkling of black pepper; mayonnaise presented very nicely mixed with capers & cucumber; hand cut chips. See current lunch menu photo.

Modern twist to traditional decor. Clever menu options giving a very pleasant change from normal pub type food. Service was attentive even though the restaurant was busy. Food service was smooth and efficient for all 3 courses. Portion sizes were generous and the quality outstanding. Reasonably priced wine list. No problems in providing gluten free options. Overall superior food and... More

Expensive place about 20% dearer than your average decent British food inn. Some of our party's food was ok. The roast dinner at £11 was lowest available of mains and filled my friend's plate he enjoyed, of course food is cheap so presentation may give a perception of better quality Fayre? Two of us chose the tomato and cheese fritters... More

We hadn't decided to definitely eat here on both nights of our stay but the food was so good and the staff so nice that we decided to go ahead and really enjoyed the experience both nights.

Second visit in a month, and will be returning. On a first visit had starter of crab and apples salad with a lemon Pannacotta, really tasty -one tiny piece of shell, in the last forkful, so just bad luck- and would order again. Friend had duck egg and asparagus soldiers, she had no complaints. Starters and main menu change regularly.... More

Thank goodness we didn't have a starter, as we would not have eaten all of our main courses. My husband had a delicious sirloin steak and I had the duck . The chef really produces some excellent flavours with the food - the meat jus with the duck was excquisite. Absolutely worth a visit - very lovely food indeed and... More

Met here with the intention of eating, but found the menu very limited and expensive. That said, very pleasant and helpful bar staff.

Called in for a light lunch and what a pleasure it was. Service with a smile is something increasingly rare these days, but the young lady this lunchtime was superb. Had American friends with me, and she was the perfect ambassadress for English hospitality, and the food was really well cooked and served. Certainly somewhere worth calling, whether you are...
