Excellent real ale and lovely food. Dog friendly and lovely relaxed atmosphere. Food very good value and very generous portions well worth a visit. Has small beer garden at the back.

Good beer, good food, friendly staff and very welcoming. We took our dog Gus, he was made very welcome as well. Would definitely go back, we had 2 evening meals there, food very good, staying just in the village. Would recommend

If you enjoy really good food, outstanding service, and an amazing atmosphere, and a very warm welcome - we would highly recommend The Farmers Arms - Portinscale. The quality of the food is second to none - within the area of Keswick. Local sourced quality fresh ingredients, expertly cooked made for the best meal we had ever had within the... More

On a rainy and blustery day, I wanted a cozy place to perch while my family hiked a challenging mountain peak. Fortunately, we found Jenning's Farmers Arms. Welcomed with open arms, I stayed there for several hours, drinking local ales, reading a book and people watching- the owners who run the pub couldn't have been friendlier. For hours, people looked... More

We stayed in Portinscale for 4 nights at a Guesthouse just down the road from here, but that will be a different review. As this pub was 10 metres away it was ideal to eat and drink. I believe it is a Jennings house with a couple of Jennings beers on tap supplemented by a couple of guest beers, which... More

Really enjoyed our visit to this pub. The landlady is one of life,s happy souls. The beers local and excellent. We didn't eat but it looked good.

Farmers Arms seemed like a nice local, and we wanted a bit of pub food for dinner. The staff was friendly... for the most part, but the food quality not so much. It seemed frozen and packaged and microwaved. I'd recommend the short walk into Keswick town.

We ate here on our first night in Portinscale last week. We both ordered lasagne, one which arrived piping hot and the other was cold. Obviously been microwaved one on top of the other and hadn't been checked before sending out! Wouldn't eat here again but okay for drinks.

Only had a snack here but it was tasty and a good price. They have some nice ales on, The pub is traditionally decorated and the staff are friendly, and it's deceptively larger inside than you think it's going to be from the outside! We enjoyed our evening here and would go back.
