Superb food - couldn't have had better! The lightest of quiche and an apple pie which was so full of apple, and according to my husband was as good as his Mum used to make - and she baked amazing pies and cakes!! If we could have lunched here every day, we would have!

We stumbled across this tearoom by accident last year and have just been for our third visit. Outside seating so ideal for dog walkers. Food so delicious we bought cakes for afternoon tea. Highly recommended.

We dropped in for morning refreshments and later for lunch. Both visits were good. Service can be a little slow, but the food and drinks were both good and some minor adjustments to the menu were accepted without fuss. It's a little annoying that you have to pay for parking but that's my only minor criticism.

Ideally sited for tea after a walk on Dodd fell or after visiting the Ospreys view point. Sandwiches, quiche, cake and drinks.

You just cannot miss this cafe. The scones are beautiful. They have a wonderful menu. You can amble around the woods for a couple of hours then sit and enjoy a meal and a drink. Would definitely recommend this lovely place.

On a very unpleasant, snowy day, the Old Sawmill provides a great place to shelter. A warm stove, friendly staff and a great selection of home made cakes. I can particularly recommend the cheese scones served with chutney and nettle cheese, delicious!

Stopped here last week whilst walking in the area, nice little cafe with carpark, good selection of cakes and snacks but staff need to learn how to smile. Good starting point for a nice easy walk through the fields to St Begas church and back via Mir ehouses.

Called in here on a wet day and was lucky to find a table for two prior to a walk down to St Begas church. Ordered two jacket potatoes which were speedily delivered piping hot and good portions. Coffee followed and all in all very reasonable in price. My wife and I hadn't been here for a while and certainly... More

Have been going to this Tea House for around 20 years - in fact every time I visit the Lakes (which is at least once a year) I always call in for either morning coffee and/or lunch. The food is always prepared with TLC and I have never been disappointed in the quality or the taste, which is always a... More
