Lovely food, reasonable prices, lovely staff and the homemade soup was excellent! Very clean standard of hygiene throughout with nice toilet facilities...can't say a bad word about the place, much recommend!

Used to be lovely, with a good balanced menu and friendly staff. Now menu poor, with some main items 'sold out', staff tired and uninterested. Format changed to 'self service', which isn't working. Thought Booths was all about quality? Reputations are hard earned and easily lost.

A really disappointing visit to what used to be a lovely artisan cafe. The waiter was rude and the food was awful. Pancakes with maple syrup and bacon is to be avoided! We also asked for scrambled eggs to come with brown toast. When it was brought to us with white toast, I politely asked if it could be changed... More

We used to enjoy a regular visit when visiting Kendal.Alas no more! Self service nightmare, with a very poor and limited menu. New chef,or indeed no chef,as meals were undercooked and taken back ,with the harassed staff claiming the usual chef was off today'. We had bland soup, but where was the artisan bread? Booths need to look at this part of... More

When the cafe on the ground floor below the upstairs supermarket was opened it was well patronised and was always busy, with you often having to wait for a table. The selection of food was good and well cooked and presented. However its certainly now lost its way! table service has been replaced by pre ordering and collecting your own... More

No more table service. Long queuing to order food or drinks. Waiting for clean tables. Cut back on staff??Booths need to rethink this approach.

Booths is a really splendid supermarket. It stocks a wide range of high quality food and drink from the north west and focuses on customer service as a priority. When we are on holiday in Cumbria, I look forward to visiting the nearest store because, while it is a little more pricey than other options, I know that whatever I... More

What a pleasure to shop here. Local cheeses and meats, craft beers and friendly staff. Just go, it's worth going a bit out of your way.

Upmarket supermarket, great for sandwiches on the go! Very spacious, well stocked supermarket. We only used it to buy sandwiches for lunch but the also had a good cafe. Recommended.

Called into the cafe recently and was very disappointed to see that standards have definitely dropped. It was once a lovely place to visit but now it is a far cry from what it used to be when called The Artisan Restaurant. The menu is very limited, everything is self service and very slow. The standard of cleanliness has also... More
