This used to be a wonderful cafe serving local fresh food but now it is modelling itself on the lowest of low coffee shops. Service is slow and they all look so glum. This could be an amazing cafe as a beautiful place but booths need to rethink its menu and staff motivation. Please

I used to love this place. It was a sophisticated little retreat from the daily rat race. Lots of good things to tempt the palate from cakes and snacks to substantial main meals and lovely roasts on Sunday. A great choice of coffees and teas and pleasant, attentive table service completed the experience. Now it is a self-service cafe, with... More

Booths Kendal restaurant used to be one of our two equal favourite lunchtime venues while shopping in Kendal. They have converted it to a cafe only style place with limited menu choices and no waiter/waitress service. The food was not to the sane standard as before either. A backward step in my view...

I always do my bits and pieces shop in Booths - the booths card is a great idea and I always have a free coffee on the house which is nice

It's just not for me. Self service makes it feel lonely or even barren. Impersonal cafe experience. Food is ok. It's very clean.

This is a nice quick stop for lunch or coffee, although since they have changed the way the cafe is staffed (its no longer table service) it is harder. I often stop with my young child and while the area has a fairly large amount of seating, there is not provision for children & juggling a pushchair and a tray... More

I used to really enjoy going to the restaurant. You may would be taken to your table and given menus and then after a short time your order would be taken. Now it has changed to self service! Such a shame. It was a particular favourite of mine and I would visit on a weekly basis. I may now look... More
