Once again, an excellent steak pie and chips, followed by a scrumptious tiramisu. Excellent value, a comfortable, bright dining room and friendly, attentive service. Ticks all the boxes and couldn't be more central.

Went here a few weeks ago with my wife and our son. Overall impressions were not great. The service was average, our order was wrong (missing soup) and drinks were served without ice on a cold day, we had to ask. Servers were pleasant however, and happily rectified mistakes. Food was sub par. The sandwiches that were supposed to come... More

We ate here before going to our holiday accommodation. It was popular with a relaxing atmosphere. Tasty food, decent sized portions.

Trying to find a family place to eat for 8 in Kendal on a Friday night was looking grim until we booked a table at Pumpkins Bistro and it was great. 5 adults and 3 older kids were spoiled for choice of main courses and they were still happy to adapt menu items to cater for fussy eaters. Service was... More

An excellent steak pie, with some prime beef, served with great chips and veg was followed by a duo of good quality ice cream. The coffee was excellent too. This restaurant offers first class, no-nonsense, homemade food. The service is quick and attentive and the location could not be more central, just across the road from Kendal Town Hall.

We were stuck for somewhere to eat one evening in Kendal and a quick trip adviser search showed us this place. When we went in it was very very quiet (some music would be a nice touch) but the menu looked really good with a decent selection of vegetarian options. The hummus starter was nice, but it wasn't the best... More

We used Trip Advisor to find somewhere to eat whilst in Kendal for a few hours and this caught our eye. What lovely little place. It was almost totally empty when we visited at 3pm on Saturday afternoon. I had fish, chips and mushy peas whilst the wife had the steak pie and chips. Both were delicious and looked and... More

We had a lovely meal here with myself, husband and 7 year old. I think its only open for evening meals once or twice a week (usually a daytime bistro) but we happened to walk past on a Thursday when it was open. At 5.30pm (ish) it was completely empty but within 30 minutes it really filled up. There was... More
