We stopped for lunch on a cold drizzly day and were tempted by the beautiful parsnip soup and a round of sandwiches washed down with copious amounts of tea! Lovely atmosphere with some of the friendliest staff ever.

Good food cooked well and served quickly. They will reduce portion sizes for children as well as there being a good kid's menu.

I was drawn in here by the pleasant warm lighting glow and the open sign in the early evening on a cold wet winter night. Having an hour to spare between dropping my grandchild off at dancing lessons I thought I'd treat myself to a light snack. I was not disappointed with my choice of Salmon and shrimp fishcake with... I was totally amazed by this hidden gem in Kendal. My girlfriend and I chose this place not only for the warm and inviting interior but also for the fresh and uncomplicated menu. After we thoroughly enjoyed our first night we decided to visit again the following evening. Once again we recieved fantastic food and fabulous service. A big thankyou... More

Sitting in this lovely, airy restaurant you can forget that you are just a few steps away from the very centre of this pretty and bustling market town. The food is unpretentious and delicious - home cooking at it's very best. The prices are good too. Service is excellent and this is a great meeting place.

Popped in again as hadn't been in for a while. Still great service and friendly. Good food although the special pie of the day didn't come with chips. Had to be and extra. Would have liked Parmesan cheese for my pasta but maybe that's just for Italian restaurants! Portions have been reduced as well but that's the same with everything.... More

Very impressed ... a lovely clean bistro with prettty decor. A great menu with plenty of dishes to suit all. I had the Special sweet potato and aubergine korma and it was just fab. My Mum had a ham sandwich and handcooked chips which were very tasty. Great service, very friendly staff... we are going back ..

We stopped here for lunch and had a really good meal for fairly reasonable prices. Staff were attentive even though it was really busy over lunch time. Would happily return.

We've encountered the restaurant by a chance while seeking for a quick dinner. The place looked warm and inviting so decided to try it. The food was nice, fresh and tasty. The service was great! We got to the restaurant 15 minutes before closing and they accepted us immediately. Definitely a great place for dining with the family or friends.

Thank Vole O
