Visited recently using the directions from the Inn's website. The welcome and advice on the different real ales was first rate. My wife had the game pie and I had the lamb casserole. Both were accompanied with chunks of fresh bread and butter. The food was really tasty and plentiful. Well worth a visit.

After we spotted this pub on the way to Ambleside, we found it again on the way back to Kendal where we were staying. So glad we stopped here as it's one of the best pub dinners I've had - perfectly beer battered haddock and home cooked chips with mushy peas, delicious, big portions and really good prices as well.... Overpriced pub food. Quaint dining rooms. Dog friendly. No where to park when it's busy. Tables can't be booked.

River Bar for dogs but where you can eat as well - the home made soup was fantastic - evening meal very good. The beer is made on the premises, a micro brewery that can be viewed through... More

Really good little pub, good food and good beer. Fair prices and dogs welcome. Children's menu is ok and good specials boards.

We called in at the Watermill recently on our way home to the midlands at the end of a great week in the Lakes. The pub is lovely inside, with a very homely, traditional feel, and had a log fire on the go. You can't book tables here, but we visited in early evening, so had no problem getting in.... More
