We visited here in late June on a very stormy weekend, it was a very busy restaurant, we just managed to get a table, we very much enjoyed our dinner but the dessert of Eton Mess was one of the worst I've ever had.

Loved the food. We had 3 burgers and I had the watermill chicken which was amazing. Loved the mustard, rosemary and black pepper sauce - now got to try and make his at home! Chef - can you send me the recipe??

My husband and I dined here for 2 separate nights. Food is good and staff are friendly and helpful. Ales were good and I highly recommend this pub for ale.

The adult mains were good, however, we were really disappointed by the both children's meals. Firstly, the burger was just a very dry lump of mince in a dry bun, the chips were fine and baked beans looked like some sort of tomato sauce as there were literally a few beans in a small pot of bean juice. Secondly, the... More

Called here for a meal for two before a night out in Kendal and made the right choice. The food was hot throughout and tasted great, matched with friendly staff and quick service. Any future trip to the Lakes wouldn't be complete without calling here again.

Outside, the pub looks picturesque. Very quaint and covered in flowers. There is parking on the road although it filled up quickly as well as a small car park. There was a good selection of drinks. I was delighted to see raspberry lemonade! The bar man was really friendly and helpful. We loved our food, it tasted fresh and was... More

We visited here for a family meal. There were seven of us and everyone enjoyed their meal. The men in the group all enjoyed the bitters which are brewed on site and all named after dogs. Great value here our bill for food and drinks for six and a half was a fiver short of a hundred pounds. The food... More

We saw this place on Trip Advisor on our way back from a very wet day in Grasmere and stopped in for some great food. We were welcomed by friendly and accomodating staff - who were very happy to say a big hello to our puppy! The restaurant was warm, with a fire lit and a good level of noise.... More

We ate here every night of our 4 night stay and had no complaints at all. Beef and ale pie was wonderful as was the fish and chips. I didn't quite manage to try all the beers on offer so this may be a good excuse to return.😂
