Myself and friends called in here to have some lunch. It room felt small and cramped but you can't blame the owners for trying to fit as many tables in as possible as it is clearly a popular place to get food or cake from. The food and cake is delicious backed up with a good range of drinks. I... More

Stopped here for lunch. Had a really tasty toast is with assorted pickles followed by the most yummy chocolate and strawberry cake. We shared a slice as it was enormous but such a light sponge was easy eating. Will definitely be back again!

Come here every time we are in this part of the lakes. The sandwiches and cakes are excellent! The staff are very friendly and welcoming even to muddy boots!

Popped into Hawkshead on a rainy afternoon after finding Hill Top House was fully booked. Really pleased we did because the cake in this place is absolutely amazing! We only had tea and cake but the cake was so huge we ended up taking some of it home for supper. The tea rooms are cosy and the staff friendly.

This a very small cafe with a great window display of homemade cakes. The menu has some original items seldom seen elsewhere. I had a burger which was well cooked and tasty I regretted not ordering one of the hash dishes when I saw them but sampled my wife's also delicious. Plates cleaned we couldn't manage dessert but bought a... More

We only had a quick drink. Sadly we were stuffed and never managed to try the wonderful selection of cakes. We did however share a chocolate chip muffin which happened to be very moist and tasty. It's the quaintest little place. Very oldy worldy and so cosy. Loved it. We managed to share a table with another couple and ended... More

Most people who were passing through this cafe were appealed by the amazing cakes. The cakes are fantastic and very big portion. I did feel the taste of homemade cakes here. They were amazing. Besides, the staff were very friendly and kind. They offer not only cakes and tea but also regular meals. It was very interesting that we enjoyed... More

The food was fresh and delicious! I had the soup of the day, Butternut Squash and Sweet Potato with scrumptious bread. Believe or not, it was very filling. My fiance had a creole chicken dish which could have been prepared in New Orleans. The best! It is a tiny place, so you have to squeeze into your seats, but who... More

We were all full after our lunch but my son wanted some of the... More

Slow service as the two of them are rushed off their feet. The gorgeous food and friendly reception more than makes up for it. A busy place. We will come here again and have the pulled pork sandwich and fantastic cake again. Well done. Keep up the good work. X
