We visited Ash Cottage on my wife's birthday on 2nd October. The bus stop is a stones throw away from this restaurant so ideally placed in Grasmere. Firstly the drinks a pint of larger and a large glass of pinot grigio cost £11.50 which I think is over priced. Secondly the food picked was a jacket potato with a chilli... More

We stopped in for a coffee and ending up having lunch. The weather was great and they have a large patio area. We had the Baguette sandwiches and wow they were good! Served on a board with chips and salad. Great value! Very good service, thank you Adam & Daniel.

Decided to try this place and ordered fish and chips. Wow!!! The fish was incredible!! Really moist and cooked in a fine coating of beer batter. The chips were also really scrumptious. We were waited on quickly and staff were pleasant. In fact, we liked it so much we went back the next night!!! Definitely a good find!!

Looking round Grasmear we found this restaurant opposite the Red Lion a Best Weston, which we found out had taken over Ash Cottage. The food we found well presented the chips are great as was my steak with a salad. Very friendly service it is a good idea to book a table on 01539 435 224.

I can defo recommend Ash Cottage for food. We were received by very courteous staff & had a broad choice of food. We had the haddock which was HUGE & tasted gorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgeous! Service was quick, the food was hot & the ambience was good and as if that wasn't enough -the prices were very reasonable indeed. Defo go there again.

Ash cottage had just been taken over and we were the very first customers to eat there. Made us feel very welcome and we even got a glass of champagne, which was a lovely touch. Best homemade chunky chips !
