We opted for toasted panini's Carrie had mozzarella with tomato and pesto and I had the bacon and Brie they came in at a reasonable price and we had a side order... More

The pub is located a bout 1 mile north of Grasmere on the road to Thirlmere and Keswick. It is visible... More

This pub does a very good pint, they look after the pipes that's for sure, foods very good as well, and a friendly place to stop.

The car park looked really busy but we found a table with no problem. Nice airy room with decent sized tables. Menu had a good choice we both went for the lamb shank, the meat fell off the bone just the way it should & the mustard mash was lovely & creamy with a good hint of mustard. Would definitely... Sunday lunch... Bone dry, overcooked, hard, fatty beef, raw Yorkshire pudding, rock hard roast pots & badly drained veg resulting in a plate of inedibles in watered down gravy. No offer of sauces & when complained of raw pudding was brought another equally raw one with a shoulder shrug. Dessert was cheap ice cream with a ginger nut biscuit shoved in it... More

Nice beer, good food can be had in this quaint Pubic House on the way from Keswick to Grasmere. Certainly worth a visit before or after looking around Grasmere village. Home to the Poet William Wordsworth.....Enjoy yourselves.
