Big thank you to your lovely barmaid who was extremely friendly and your chef. Visited here Saturday 23rd July around 2pm with 11 of my friends who were all camping at nearby Coniston Hall Campsite. 10 mins walk, about 1/2 a mile walk. Great service all our food came before we finished our first drink and was excellent. Lovely to... More

After mass at the nearby Sacred Heart Church in Coniston wanted to complete a Saturday rainy cold evening with a good meal. Ship Inn made our wish come true. Friendly staff, make you feel at home. Very well presented and quite large dishes. Good value for money.

Spent a great evening in the pub. Most of our group went for the pies which I'd highly recommend ... especially if you are hungry as they are not shy on the chips! The landlord and lady were very welcoming - great little place.

We nipped in from staying on cc site...great selection of ales and local Lakeland lager. We both had steak and black pudding pie, fresh veg (cauliflower, carrots and swede) and choice of chips or new potatoes ...we opted for chips and the only slight disappointment was that the chips were out of a packet rather than home cooked chunky chips... We were in Coniston for the last May bank holiday weekend. We stayed at the Caravan Club Coniston Park site and there's an easy walk to this pub avoiding the main road for most of the route. We all had a great meal and the staff were very friendly. They allow dogs too which was a bonus. Definitely will visit... More

This gem has a distinctive 'locals' feel - but both staff and locals welcomed our group of tired and hungry walkers with open arms. The food is grounded British fare (recommend the pies) which quickly solved our large appetites. The husband and wife team front of house keep the operation moving smoothly, with good friendly service. Some great local ales... More

Visited with my family of six (3 generations) and sat at a nice oval table. Very friendly efficient service and great food was had whilst we listened to some great songs from the 60s, 70s and 80s. Recommended for a really nice dinner.

Had a lovely dinner in The Ship Inn tonight. The liver in onion gravy was served with Mash and loads of fresh vegetables. My husband really enjoyed it. I chose the Stilton and vegetable crumble. It was tasty but the vegetables were few and far between, and the crumble was just a scattering of breadcrumbs. Quite a disappointment, especially as... More

This venue is a Robinson's pub and whilst I am not overly keen on there beers they do have a few that are pretty good. The landlord was really friendly and only to happy to suggest something worth trying. As it turned out I think this is the only pub in Coniston that stocks a range of bottled craft beer.... More
