Coffee always excellent standard; a good variety of tray bakes, cakes and light lunches always available with unusual specials too.

The coffee here is divine. The owner knows how to treat coffee and is the best barista ever. The food is also very good with a daily specials menu. All fresh stuff and sourced mainly locally. Good atmosphere and service.

Little coffee place in Challoner Street, off Cockermouth Main Street. Awkward stairs make it unfriendly to people with walking problems, but there are plenty of other food and drink outlets around. Very poplar with some local coffee drinkers though. Regular clientel. The owner, Andy, has a bakery in another shop in Market Street, producing specialist breads which are very tasty... More

Three of us had tea and cakes at The Coffee Kitchen last week. It's a plain-looking little place (though bigger inside than it appears from the road) tucked away down an unprepossessing back street just off the centre of Cockermouth, but its tea is amongst the best in the north of England. Their Darjeeling is unmistakably the real thing, brewed... More

We are becoming coffee snobs in our old age and this lovely cafe does not disappoint. The place was relaxed and friendly, with the daily papers available along with some current magazines, and comfortable, unregimented seating. The Americano and Cappuccino was delicious. The food on offer looked enticing but we were still full from our huge breakfast at our B&B... More

I had heard people talking about The coffee Kitchen but had looked out for it and never found it until yesterday. Parked on the main street and there it down a little lane to the side. Didn't look much from outside but once inside and upstairs I knew when I saw the selection of cakes things were going to be... More

Wow gorgeous little place and the Chia latte was to die for such big cup. The bacon sandwich was delicious and i would definitely recommend going there for a chia or lunch. Service was pleasant.

Thank Julie K
