Excellent coffee, good food (mainly light meals), pleasant staff, moderately priced given the quality - deservedly popular

Careful you don't miss this place, tucked up a lane off Cockermouth Main Street; and don't be put off by the lack of seats when you go in. Head upstairs for the place is huge, the coffee is hot and the cakes (all baked round the corner at their own bakery) are huge and tasty. Great place to pass the... More

We struggled to find anywhere to eat on a Saturday afternoon in Cockermouth and were pleased to find this little place. Specials were no longer being served but service was friendly and I enjoyed the Moroccan Lentil soup with two different kinds of bread. Seating was upstairs which is difficult if you struggle with stairs. Prices were reasonable.

Nice pot of tea and excellent capuchino cakes looked very good too. Bacon rolls with brie and onions were very good, the home baked bread makes a big difference. Went straight to the shop for bread.

The wife was brought up in Cockermouth and we’ve watched it slowly gentrify over the years when we visit. One aspect of gentrification that is entirely positive is you get places like the Coffee Kitchen opening up. The place is utterly faultless – everything is baked in house (including the superb bread) and they’re very serious about their coffee and... More
