This is a fab place, the food is first class. Six of us had dinner here and all of us were very happy with the quality and presentation of the food. Keep up the good work 😊

We visited for my husbands birthday evening meal. We had looked at menu beforehand and decided it was that place for us. Had a lovely feel inside. Great choice of food and variation. Shared a starter which was excellent and more than enough for two. My husband had steak and kidney pudding with fresh veg on side I had stroganoff... More

I popped in on chance after a day's hiking to see if they could fit in a single lady and was seated immediately by the friendly staff. I had the goats cheese and spinach filo tart with a walnut salad, which was one of the nicest meals I have ever eaten! Just some ice cream to follow and a nice... More

The great menu pulled us in as we had a gander from outside. It was quite early and so my partner took advantage of the early bird whilst I opted for the a la carte. The menu offered a real blend of traditional & modern dishes. Service was great & pricing reasonable considering the location & quality.

Id seen this place lots of times as I'd walked past. It seemed dark, gloomy and small. For various reasons we decided to try it and were more impressed than we had expected. Inside its bigger and lighter than it seemed, not fuddy duddy at all, with a fairly wide ranging menu including sharing boards and a fair amount of... More

Very good food, Good menu choices. The staff were helpful but also unobtrusive. Good value for money for high quality food. We all had something different and each meal was delicious and cooked very well.

lovely ambiance and friendly staff. We visited this restaurant on our first night in Ambleside and went back again twice more. There is an extensive menu of tasty, well prepared meals and an excellent early bird menu that is very good value. The restaurant is deceptively large and beautifully decorated. A gem!

Lovely meal at Sheila's. We had the early evening special - good choice of food, very friendly service. We had the fish which was delicious. Interesting choice of (unobtrusive) background music from the 60s and 70s which kept us entertained throughout the meal. Recommend a visit.

I was staying nearby with my wife for a few days and had researched some places already. I was impressed with the menu I saw online and almost by accident we passed Sheilas when out walking. I booked us in and returned later to eat. Sheila's cottage sounds like a small quaint little place but once inside its anything but.... More

We were immediately made welcome and they even provided a bowl of water for our dog. Interesting menu, great portions with friendly staff. Prices were good too. We enjoyed it so much we went back a few nights later.
