The welcome was great and the table was ready very quickly. The service was excellent. The menu changes daily and our food was to die for. Heartily recommend this for a visit :)

Lovely food, great staff, and the restaurant itself was absolutely beautiful. Very relaxed vibe, we will definitely come back when we next visit Ambleside. P.S. would recommend the duck main.

We had a fab evening at Lucy's. The restaurant is a lovely place with a really nice atmosphere. All of the staff were excellent and very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and there's a huge amount of choice (even 35 puddings!). There are lots of lovely little touches as well like a paragraph about the guests visiting on... More

A look at the choices on the menu and the way it is written, should tell you all you need to go to Lucy's... but not quite. You can't appreciate the relaxed surrounding, excellent and friendly staff, nor the beer and wine selection... until you get there. After a month travelling, this was undoubtedly the best restaurant experience we had...... More

Visited Sunday, didn't book but was greeted by a very friendly lady who told us we would only have to wait about half an hour, which was fine so we sat and had a drink. Sat in the front part of the restaurant which is lit by twinkly fairy lights and candles, very pretty. Ordered the Sunday roast lamb and... More

A cosy open light restaurant with a great choice, gluten free options available too. We had Sunday lunch and it was one of the best Sunday roasts we have ever had! Staff were friendly and the place is clean and tidy. Lots of couples, families and a few birthdays. A nice touch was the owner have us sing to the... More

We returned to Lucy's after a number of years where circumstances kept us away. Apart from the reception area, not much has changed. Still a great experience and reception from Lucy and the rest of the team. I was very disappointed to see reviews which criticised the "foreign" staff (which probably says more about the critics) - they were all... More

We had a fairly large group of around 12, a few of our orders were mixed up which in itself wouldn't have been an issue. However, the attitude we received from the woman who delivered the orders (I assume she was manager/owner) was incomprehensible. She basically blamed members of our party for the mistake, then tried to force them to... More

1AA1 - isn't it interesting how there will always be three sides to a story ... theirs, yours and somewhere in the middle the truth. In spite of your review being for a visit some time ago, we all remember you very well for various reasons - You together with your group of mostly male colleagues came for (unbooked) brunch...
