This is the second time we have been up to Ambleside and eaten at Lucy's. I have been diagnosed Coeliac and both times had excellent amazing food. My husband who is not Coeliac also enjoys the food, he even had a pudding which he doesn't usually!

Reading reviews is a tricky one as everyone's expectations and standards differ. Hello Joe M Responding to reviews such as this is a tricky one ... as you have only written one review and it's a 2 dot rating I'm not very sure how serious you are about dining or indeed reviewing ...as it's not easy to see what kind of a diner you are and where you eat at. In this... More

This was my first time staying in Ambleside and what a brilliant night we had with friends at Lucy's, the food was superb and the staff went out of their way to make our night. We arrived to be given a menu with a personal message for all the diners eating at Lucy's that evening, a very touching gesture and... More

4th visit to Lucy's over the years and it's so refreshing to find someone who understands the word 'hospitality' ..In a world full of mediocre cafes bars and restaurants it's a joy to find people who care and enjoy their work ..From the friendly greetings and banter ( Cheers Chris ) to the wonderful topical and welcoming daily menu (... We first visited Lucy's about 9 years ago and it's still serving delicious food! We had a rare evening without kids while on holiday and decided to re-visit Lucy's. We still found our names on the menu a nice touch. It had a lovely relaxed atmosphere with friendly helpful staff, although the guy welcoming at the bar was a little... More

I discovered this place when my little boy of three needed a wee. Having asked if it was possible to use their toilet they were very happy to oblige. What a relief! As he was in full waterproofs dungarees and jacket. Open for lunches, afternoon teas and serving dinner from 5pm I decided to book a table. Having travelled up... More
