Unusual lunch menu. Big bowls of tasty goodness! Great ambience and helpful staff. We enjoyed a deep mid winter lunch here today...cold and damp outside, warm and welcoming inside!

I had never heard of this pub/inn/restaurant prior to a month ago. I had the pleasure to visit twice in the space of two weeks due to friends recommendations. I was not disappointed. Typical friendly and warm welcome. Great if you just wanted a drink in the tap room, dogs welcome. Would be a nice place to have a local... More

Stopped in for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the interesting menu. The sharing mezze board would have been plenty for 2 sharing and was packed with flavour. The fresh bread which went with it was fantastic! We also indulged in a fish finger sandwich with chips and were again very happy with a delicious roll and perfect fish fingers. There was... More

My wife and I visited the Drunken Duck after a few friends recommended it to us. Their reviews were only reinforced. Our room was extremely pleasant; a nice faux electric fire, beautiful picture window, lovely bathroom with a huge shower and a roll top bath. For the first time in a long time we felt utterly relaxed, especially with the... More

Slightly off the beaten track but well worth the detour. Good food, good ambience, good service, sensible price. You can't ask for more! The choices were varied, the portions just right. Wine prices were sensible and all staff exemplary in their courteous, friendly manner. Yes go there! Even if its cold and foggy, once inside you'll be transported to a... More

A very good place to visit. Beautiful setting in Barn gates. Lovely atmosphere but expensive. Wonderful history about this pub and the ducks who were drunk. Well worth a visit

Whether you've been hiking or you just drive there. The Drunken Duck caters for everyone. Excellent ales and ciders. Great selection of food-catering for gluten free if requested. Has been modernised over the years with a large open kitchen. Saying that, it still maintains it's character from when i used to come here 30 years ago. A MUST VISIT place.

We have been to the Drunken Duck many times but never reviewed it before. We had a lovely soup lunch and sat outside as it was a glorious day, beautiful views from the tables. Have been many a time for an evening meal, lovely cosy restaurant and delicious food, would highly recommend a visit.

The Drunken Duck is a hiddem gem. It is relatively difficult to get a reservation here, but it is definitely worth persevering with. The restaurant is cosy and inviting, the food is warm and comforting and in fitting with the surroundings. The food and restaurant itself finds a perfect balance between fine dining and its countryside location. The ox cheek... More
