Good Sunday Roast

My family of five had roast beef for lunch today, a cold and wet Sunday. The roast beef was good and tender but rather pricey at GBP 16 each. The portions were, however, reasonably large and served with a good variety of vegetables. The Yorkshire pudding was large but a little disappointing. All in... read more

We visited on a rainy cold Friday night but this lovely Inn was warm and welcoming with a good atmosphere- just how a pub should be. We ate in the restaurant and the food and wine was excellent and of a very high quality. The staff were attentive, pleasant and very helpful. The only thing that marred our visit was... More

We went on a Sunday lunch & had their roast beef. It was nicely done with a huge Yorkshire pudding & all the trimmings. So overall an enjoyable meal but £16 for the roast meal was pricey for what it was. Worth a visit but expect the highish prices.

Met a couple of friends here to have lunch. None of us had been in ages - and it was interesting to see the changes that had been made. For instance, you can now see into the open kitchen, which was bright, airy and spotlessly clean. Living locally, this was always one of my regular places (in my youth!) and somewhere... More

Fab food in a gorgeous hillside setting, perfect for walking. We always visit the Drunken Duck when we go to the Lakes, it's become a tradition!

My husband booked this restaurant for my 60th birthday based on location and review. When he made the booking on the phone he was told we had the choice of 6.30 or 9pm booking. We chose the later one as we were travelling from surrey and he to,d the. It was for a 60th celebration. He was also asked if... More

We travelled to the drunken duck on recommendation and we weren't disappointed. We had a wonderful soup starter followed by a peanut curry and the vegan stew. Both dished were flavoursome.. I topped it off with two fine ales... The ale choices are brilliant as are the staff who are on hand to recommend them to you. We'll be back!

Another charming pub to visit in the Lake District. My partner I visited for a relaxed lunch on a slightly chilly day, so, we decided to pick a table inside closest to the bar. We enjoyed the compact coziness of the room, where a wood fire kept us company, along with a few other characters all enjoying the end of... More

A delightful place to eat and we enjoyed our meal very much despite ordering a much wanted guinea fowl which they ran out of by the time the order was placed. Cosy setting and very friendly waiting staff.
