We've visited here on several occasions before and also stayed over twice, and I always really enjoy it. Good selection of interesting foods - everything beautifully presented. Lovely atmosphere and good wine list - on this occasion having a New Zealand Pinot Noir. We got a taxi this time from Ambleside - about £10 each way, with the restaurant happy... More

Drove here for lunch and the sandwich I had was well worth the travel sick I endured to get here! Best sandwich I've tasted in a long time I had the beef 👍

After seeing an article online recommending the Drunken Duck, I was really looking forward to our visit whilst in Ambleside. Judging by some of the reviews on here, we are not alone in our disappointment. We visited today for lunch, and whilst I couldn't fault the manners of the staff, the quick service, the decor and the fact it is... More

Consistently good - and consistency is a rare quality in Cumbria's pub food. One of only 2-3 places we return to regularly - the subtly advertised £10-£12 lunch menu is superb, and staff are reassuringly professional and welcoming. You'll need to pay double in the evening, (when they bring out the posh cruets and table settings, mushrooms get wilder and... More

Had a wonderful meal here with our family at weekend. Been to the Drunken Duck a few times now and we've never been disappointed. Great food, good friendly service with helpful advice. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Can't wait for our next visit.😃

Popped in for lunch on a very cold but sunny day. Views outside are lovely. There are benches and tables outside. Inside the Fire was burning. Great atmosphere, dogs welcome in the bar area. It is a popular venue and I can see why. Barngates brewery is located at the back of the pub and they have a great selection... More

Good food at dinner - portion size is large but prices seem a little high for some items. Its a pub setting which is nice - don't overdress.

Fab Sunday Roast, cosy table near the fire! Great selection of Gin, wine & real ales. Dog friendly! The beef was lovely & the veggies cooked perfectly

What a deterioration in this pub. Famous for many years, we arrived and appeared very busy. Long waits for food from a menu that was very small in choice. The food arrived OMG dreadful beyond belief and the imagination used to create these dishes was non existent. Staff looked like they couldn't be bothered. Will not visit again.

We had a meal at the drunken duck .Over priced ,over cooked, not value for money.Considering it's location you would think they would try harder. The food portion's were very small, badly presented.
